Seasonal assistance with outdoor household activities for eligible Batavia residents who are unable to afford assistance with these tasks.

Services currently available:

- Leaf Raking - In early Nov, volunteers are available to rake leaves to the curb for city pick up (must call to register).

- Snow Removal - From Dec-March, volunteers will shovel driveways and walkways for registered residents (must register in advance).

Offers lawn and snow removal services.

Housekeeping services include cleaning house, vacuuming, etc.

Home health services including - CNA, house cleaning, personal cares, meal prep, companionsjip, transportation, IT support, handyman services, lawn care, and snow removal

Ongoing outdoor chore services, including lawn mowing, yard cleaning, snow removal, etc., for low income senior citizens. Must be eligible through Connections Area Agency on Aging.

Offers many recreation and enrichment programs and services.

- Lawn Mowing and Snow Shoveling Program: (waitlist) Senior and disabled residents with standard yard size may qualify for the lawn-mowing and snow removal.

- Ride in Kane: Eligible residents are offered subsidized curb-to-curb transportation available all day and night, year-round.

Care for the poor organization, for the area of 20th Street to 28th Street and Martha to Leavenworth.

Helps the needy with painting, cleaning, raking leaves, minor home repairs, hauling away junk, and community development.

Provides two service days each year where staff and students volunteer to assist Decorah community residents with household and yard chores. There is one day provided each spring and one day each fall.

Provides a disability assistance program. Services include spring cleaning and snow shoveling for individuals with disabilities or older adults. 

Collaborates with other communitywide groups such as 4-H, FFA, Scout programs, Student Council groups, church youth and adult groups, etc, for projects that may involve yardwork and landscaping, painting, and moving furniture.

Connects clientele with other organizations or services which may help meet their immediate needs.

Provides mowing services to eligible older adults and individuals who are disabled.

Provides free home repairs to eligible homeowners, on the first Saturday in October. Repairs are prioritized to keeping home warm, safe, and dry.

Services include:

- Home delivered meals.

- Information and referral.

- Case management.

- Arranges for in-home services (housekeeping, yard work, personal care, transportation, shopping, and laundry assistance).

- Activities coordination.

- Counseling with seniors and/or family members.

- Resource development.

- Advocacy.

- Coordination and technical assistance to senior organizations.

- Wellness program, strength training, Tai Chi, and Stepping On fall prevention class.

- Caregiver support.

- Insurance counseling, including Medicare.

- Assistance with Social Security applications and questions.

- Foot Clinics; specifically toenail trimming.

- Loans durable medical equipment.

- Farmers Market coupons distributed each summer.
