Provides support services to all refugees and immigrants in Lincoln and Lancaster County.

Interpretation services are provided to assist with appointments and translating all types of documents. The project advocates for men and women to enable them to become independent by providing tools and resources to help them achieve independence.

The MENA Hope Project assists refugees and immigrants from the Middle East and North Africa. Collaborates with resettlement agencies bringing new refugees into Lincoln and Lancaster County to help them with a smooth transition to their new home. Home visits may be made to determine what assistance is needed and the new families are given priority to come and shop at the center for clothes and food, and enroll in classes.

Staff members who speak several languages to provide enhanced support for refugees and immigrants from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA Hope Project), Asian refugees and immigrants from Afghanistan and India, and African refugees and immigrants who speak Swahili or French.

Recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) as a qualified immigration legal service provider. All practicing immigration specialists have received extensive education and training in immigration law and have obtained BIA accreditation. An immigration attorney is also available for individuals in removal or deportation proceedings who need representation in Immigration Court.

Offers affordable, quality immigration legal assistance to refugees, immigrants and asylees. Minimal fees for service are charged on a sliding scale.

Services include assistance with family petitions, citizenship, permanent residence, travel documents, Nicaraguan and Central American Relief Act (NACARA), Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). LFS immigration specialists assist in the entire process from completing the necessary application to representation at the USCIS Naturalization Interview.

Interpretation is offered in a variety of languages and dialects, focusing on the most common spoken among Nebraska's new populations - Amharic, Arabic, Burmese, Dari, Dinka, Farsi, French, Karen, Karenni, Kikongo, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Lingala, Luganda, Nepali, Nuer, Pashto, Somali, Spanish and Swahili.

An ethnic/cultural educational organization which can provide resources for employment, annual scholarships to Latino youths and non traditional Latinos worldwide studying at Iowa Colleges and Universities. Interpreting and translating services offered at a discounted rate. Verbal and written translations offered, both in-house and on-site.
Services provided by bilingual staff to address needs of non-english speaking families. Includes translation, interpretation, referrals, job assistance services and teaches an English class.
ESL classes are offered in the evenings in person in collaboration with North Iowa Area Community College. Classes are open to anyone, whether beginner or advanced, to practice skills and learn more.

Assists minority clients (immigrant, refugees, vulnerable populations) with case management in five areas: food security, employment, mental and physical health care access, housing and immigration legal status. May help resolve any issue for a newcomer, either on-site or with the assistance of our partnering organizations and businesses.

Clients can access services via appointment in Arabic, English, French, Somali and Spanish. The agency does not provide interpretation or translation services to agencies or businesses.

Family Resource Program offers language skills, citizenship classes, translation and other assistance regarding INS documents, birth certificates, marriage certificates, high school and college diploma, educational transcripts, and health care services. Offers tax return filings to the community. Employment assistance to job seekers, and employment Bulletin Board information and referral services through bilingual radio program.

Parenting Kindly education to Asian parents.

Youth Leadership Program where youth meet every week to learn leadership skills, community and cultural involvement, and career development skills. Offers Asian Student scholarships - currently provides four (4) $500 scholarships to Asian graduating seniors from any Lincoln Public School.

Seniors Program provides weekly group education programs at the center providing health and behavioral health services to Asian elders.

Cultural education through sharing and presenting the Asian cultural information and activities in Lincoln/Lancaster County. Other cultural activities such as lectures, Tet festival, talks and a number of multi-cultural training sessions, Vietnamese and Chinese language classes, and cooking classes are organized at the Center for a wide variety of groups throughout the year. Cultural and resource orientation classes are offered to New Americans and refugees to educate and share cultural aspects that will help to the refugee community to understand and adjust to have a harmonious life.

Help consumers prepare electronic and paper applications for SNAP, unemployment, legal aid and resumes.

Landlords - offers a free phone interpretation hotline to help landlords and limited-English-speaking tenants communicate better during challenging conversations (Rent and lease negotiations, lease terminations, maintenance notifications and repairs). The Housing Interpretation Hotline is available 24/7 and offers over 150 languages. Call and answer a short series of questions about the situation before being connected to an interpreter.
