Roller Skating and other various activities are offered all year long. Activities include open group, and family skates, dance, walking, floor hockey leagues, aerobics, craft shows, tot lot and more. The building is also available for private rental for wedding receptions, etc. There is also a game room and outdoor miniature golf course.

The Recreation Division offers instruction in various sports as well as youth sports camps, outdoor aquatic centers and spray grounds. Red Cross swimming instruction is also available at some facilities. GRASP card offers discounts to low income families (up to 50% off).

An outdoor rink that will be open for the winter season weather permitting. It is located at 2500 Grand Avenue in West Des Moines.
Offers the perfect place for that birthday party, family reunion or organization meeting. The activity center offers a wide variety of meeting room spaces, as well as two dining rooms, available for public rental. The Grand Ballroom located on the second floor of the building provides an excellent space for wedding receptions and large dinner gatherings for up to 200 people.

Waukon City Park offers horseshoe courts; outdoor swimming pool; sand volleyball courts; 4 large and 5 small shelters with grills, additional grills located throughout the park; three small playgrounds and 1 large playground (Hideaway Park); campground with facilities; hikers trail; and fishing pond.
