Cresco Recreation Department offers a facility for people of all ages to participate in walking, swimming, exercise, basketball, volleyball, and other fitness activities. Facility includes a zero-entry swimming pool; a walking-running track that circles exercise equipment; a pair of basketball hoops; a gymnasium and stage; rooms for aerobics, dance, tumbling, wrestling, and other activities; a lower level with a golf driving range; softball and baseball hitting cages; rooms for arts and crafts; other activities for public use. The municipal pool provides general swimming water recreational activities for the public. In addition, specific programs are offered including: swim lessons for people with disabilities, parent-infant/toddler and pre-school swim lessons, Red Cross swim lessons (Levels 1-6), Red Cross lifeguard training and water safety classes, and water exercise sessions.

The Waukon Family Aquatic Center is located in the Waukon City Park and offers swimming lessons, water aerobic classes and senior water aerobics. Swim team is available for ages up to 18 years.

The Northeast Iowa Wellness and Recreation Center has a public swimming facility that offers swimming lessons for adults and children and aquarobics classes.
