Camps for boys and girls age 7 through 16 years offered at the Walnut Creek and Waukee YMCA's. Day camps vary by location. Specialized camps are also offered at those YMCA locations. Call for more details.
CAMP SACAJAWEA: Established camp, Northwest of Boone, Iowa, on 405 acres of wooded ravines and plateaus bordering the Des Moines River.

CAMP TANGLEFOOT: Partially along the shore of Clear Lake, a 50-acre camp nestled in a unique setting, a big meadow to play in, hiking through the forest, with glimpses of wildlife in the prairie and on the marsh.

CAMP JOY HOLLOW: Located on 360 acres in the Loess Hills north of Sioux City a perfect setting for indoor and outdoor year-round troop activities.

CAMP JULIETTE; located on 27 wooded acres within the city limits of Marshalltown. The area features lots of spring wildflowers and animal life. Deer are an almost common sight.

DAY CAMPS: During the summer, approximately 15 day camps are in session throughout the Council.
Camperships offered to a limited number of Scott County residents ages 6-17. Both day camps and resident camps are included.
Recreational Scholarships are offered for low-income children for West Des Moines Parks and Rec offerings. Low income families can also apply for reduced pool passes which allows unlimited admittance all summer to the Holiday Park Aquatic Center, Valley View Aquatic Center. Applications for reduced pool passes begins in April of each year.

Summer Camp Scholarships for children to attend Camp Hantesa or a Camp Fire sponsored day camp. Families whose income falls below federal poverty guidelines may apply for scholarships. Limited scholarships available.

Classes offered in painting, drawing, clay, mixed media, metal art, and more. Youth ages 5-8, 9-12, and 13-16 can be registered. Program runs June through August.
Program is intended for youth looking to have the day camp experience. Site locations are selected based on community need, partnerships, and safe spaces. Activities will include arts and crafts, sports, field trips, STEM programs, nature-based programs, swim lessons, and more! Lunch and snacks will be provided.
