Provides park and recreational services to the residents of Ames. The Department manages 40 parks and offers almost 200 programs and activities throughout the year. Programs include swim lessons, fitness and wellness classes, youth and adult sports, and more. Enjoy activities at one of the facilities which include Homewood Golf Course, Ames/ISU Ice Arena, Furman Aquatic Center, Community Center, and Ames City Auditorium.

Parks and recreation department serving the city of Rockford. Provides a wide range of activities for individuals of all ages. Lewis Lemon Community Center (LLCC) and Washington Park Community Center (WPCC) also offer sports programs for youth.

LLCC and WPCC Sports: Community center members are invited to participate in various sports teams. All practices take place on site. Competitions take place between local community centers and other not for profit organizations.

Provides fishing trips for veterans, by veterans. Some trips are overnights, others are daytime. Some can accommodate wheelchairs. Locations vary.

A typical day includes, active group game, crafts, clubs, free play, 30-minute break time with age-appropriate math and reading activities. Youth leaders have specialized training prior to start of camp and are CPR /First Aid certified. Children bring a lunch daily.

Offers 60-minute individual sessions that takes place with a personal therapist in a private studio. Cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, yoga, art therapy, music therapy, and play therapy are just a few of the options available during sessions. Exercise activities include paddle boarding, weightlifting, biking, running and tennis.

Provides an amateur Roller Derby League that promotes self-esteem, self-empowerment, healthy body image and lifestyle.

Offers many activities and a wide variety of programs for families to participate in. Facility is equipped with a training center, wellness, fitness, and exercise classes, locker rooms, gymnasium, youth and family center, and child watch. Some locations offer an indoor pool as well. 

Also offers physical therapy and rehabilitation services on site through partnership with Swedish American Health System.

Offers the Coffee's On program, the Indoor Walking program and the Batavia Senior Citizens Club (BSCC).

- Coffee's On program offers a place where seniors can have coffee, play card, and converse.
- Indoor Walking Program offers a place for walking when weather does not permit outdoor activity.
- BSCC hosts monthly entertainment and informative programs followed by a refreshment/lunch and social period.

Offers a Medical Assistance Program (MAP), driving services for individuals needing to get to medical appointments, lock box installations (secure emergency access into homes), and smoke and CO detector checks/installations/battery replacements through the Batavia Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

- MAP: Payment assistance for prescription medication co-pays and deductibles, annual stipend for dental services and hearing aid battery replacements.

Offers nutritious home cooked meals provided by Golden Meals are available to help promote healthy eating and reduce isolation by encouraging fellowship. Many social activities (movies, bingo, friendly Mexican dominoes, card games, knitting/crocheting, pool, etc.) are offered before and after the meal on selected days of the week.
