Fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics/problem drinkers who share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems. Groups are based on alcoholism as a family illness and that changed attitude can aid recovery. Groups practice the Twelve Steps, welcome and give comfort to families/friends of alcoholics/problem drinkers, and give understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic/problem drinker. Al-Anon is for anyone, of any age, affected by someone's drinking.

Alateen is for teenagers, aged 12 - 18, who are worried about someone with a drinking problem.
