Center for Sleep Medicine where registered polysomnographic technologists conduct sleep evaluations for the diagnosis and treatment of problems such as sleep apnea and excessive snoring, narcolepsy, insomnia, night terrors, sleepwalking, and shift work adaptation. Telephone: (402) 481-9646

Urinary Incontinence Service is a confidential, individualized program which assists women with urinary stress incontinence to regain muscle control. Clients are given instruction in how to perform the Kegel technique, as well as the use of biofeedback-assisted muscle training to control stress or urgency incontinence. Other options include collagen injection, done by a urologist, to increase resistance for urinary leakage. Telephone: (402) 481-5629

Educational and support group concerned with survivorship issues for people with a cancer history, their family, friends, or health care professionals.

Education presented by health care and community speakers.

Provides a support group that meets regularly to share experiences, provide mutual support and learn about the latest products and information for ostomy, urostomy and intestinal diversions. Offers person-to-person support to people who are undergoing ostomy or related surgery, and their caregivers.

Providing behavior support for students who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or visually impaired. Offers free onsite visits for schools and homes, free training for school and parent groups, free library with return postage, and a 24-hour helpline.

Peer support program for breast cancer patients in the form of one-on-one contact with trained volunteers who are breast cancer survivors. The goal of the program is that all persons facing breast cancer will receive the information and support they need throughout their breast cancer experience.

Caregivers support group:

-- For caregivers and loves ones, this group provides support and education for support persons of our cancer patients.

Kids Club:

-- This group offers special support for children ages 5 to 13 whose parents or other close family members are diagnosed with cancer. Led by specially trained healthcare professionals, Kids Club helps improve communication between the child and their diagnosed parent and answer children's difficult questions about cancer. Kids Club is a one-night event from 5:30 pm to 7 pm and dinner is provided.

Livestrong at the YMCA:

-- A twelve-week, small group program and membership designed for adult cancer survivors at the Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA in South Sioux City, NE. This program fulfills the important need of supporting the increasing number of cancer survivors who find themselves in the transitional period between completing their cancer treatment and the shift to feeling physically and emotionally strong enough to attempt to return to their normal life. The program is conducted outside of medical facilities to emphasize that Livestrong at the YMCA is about health, not a disease.

Multiple Myeloma Support Group:

-- This group provides special support and education for patients diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, and their loved ones.

One-on-One Support for Cancer Survivors:

-- Meet with a social worker, dietitian, or our patient advocate to talk about specific questions or needs during your cancer journey such as emotional needs, nutritional needs, spiritual needs.

Patient-to-Patient Support:

-- Connect with another patient with a similar diagnosis.

Provides in-person and online support groups for individuals with depression and bipolar disorder. Services include the balanced mind parent network program, which provides an online support community for parents and caregivers to find connections and resources. Resources include support groups for parents and caregivers, information and resources, depression in children, bipolar disorder in children, finding a clinician, treatment options, how to talk to children about mental health, safety and crisis planning, working with educators, and resources for parents and caregivers.

Works to enhance the quality of life for children with cancer by providing programs for recreation, education, and family support. Summer Oncology Camps for children with cancer throughout the state of Iowa (one week). Summer sibling camp for siblings of children with cancer (one week).
