Psychiatric home health provides in-home nursing assessment, occupational therapy to assess functional skills, psychology to assist with behavior plans for caregivers, and social work to provide in-home psychotherapy.

A nurse is available around the clock (by phone after business hours); there are 9 beds available for mentally ill adults at the Oakland Avenue site. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for adults 18 and older. Program provides medication review and consults by a Psychiatrist/Medical Director and diverse counseling services by a qualified mental health professional. Group, individual and family sessions are available and determined by need.

Program is intended for individuals who are affected by depression, anxiety or other forms of emotional distress. The additional support and treatment provided may help prevent hospitalization or while discharging from an inpatient service back to home during times of increased distress due to medical or lifestyle changes.

Short-term care with linkage to the least restrictive care environment is the primary goal. Offers a 15-bed acute, inpatient senior behavioral health unit located on the third flood of Cedar Falls Medical Center. Services offered include 24-hour admission, comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluation, medical management of psychiatric disorders, medication management and education, individual, group and family therapy, stress management, activity-based therapy groups, spiritual counseling, community resource linkage, and occupational and physical therapy.

Access Center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for admission or other inquiries. When contacting the Access Center by phone or walking in, individuals are first evaluated by a mental health professional who will identify presenting problems. After consultation with a psychiatrist, potential patients will be matched with appropriate care within the hospital's programs or with other community resources.

Access Center offers Psychiatric Crisis/Emergency Assistance. All services through the emergency Access Center are of no cost to the patient or the referring party.

Adult Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Program for ages 18 and up, provides Voluntary Services and Emergency Protective Custody/Involuntary Mental Health Board Committals.

Hope and Recovery Subacute for Adults, ages 18 and up.

Adolescent Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Program for ages 13-18.

Outpatient clinic offers Medication Management and Psychiatric Assessments/Evaluations for adults, adolescents, and children.

Admissions conducts assessments, identifies treatment needs, identifies the least restrictive treatment environment, and transfers individuals to that setting in the least amount of time. The program is designed to conduct thorough psychological evaluations and physical exams, and to begin a medication and treatment regime.

Forensic Mental Health Services (FMHS) provides a 128-bed male treatment facility which serves the State of Nebraska for individuals mainly involved in the legal system. It is comprised of two distinct programs, listed below:

Sexual Offenders Community Residential Program provides comprehensive treatment to individuals who demonstrate a pattern of sexually deviant behavior. The 85-bed male patient population includes convicted sex offenders who are offered treatment and patients committed by a mental health board. In addition, five of the beds are for female sex offenders. Aftercare services are also provided for individuals who have successfully completed the treatment program and are reintegrating into the community.

The Whitehall Program for adolescents who have sexually offended provides residential levels of care. Referrals are accepted for males ages 12-18. The program is family-centered and community-based. The program is located near the Wesleyan University campus and in the community. Contact the program by calling 402-471-6969.

Forensic Psychiatric Services provides a 43 beds, evaluation and assessments for individuals as ordered by the Nebraska legal court systems.
Full service hospital. Additional services include Meals on Wheels, Behavioral Health services, both inpatient and outpatient, Monthly outpatient clinics, Alzheimer's support group.
