Provides in-home support services to teach children, adolescents and adults skills to assist with their behaviors and social interactions. Offers in-office therapy services to children, adolescents and adults.

In Humboldt County only, group services are offered to at-risk youth. Skilled counselors help children and adolescents develop individualized action steps to help improve decisions, behaviors and interactions with others.

Mental health services include mental health evaluations and individual, group, family, and couples counseling. Things that may be addressed in a session could include, but not limited to, the following: anxiety, ADHD, depression, grief, sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, trauma, sex addiction, sexual offenses, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or psychosis. These sessions may occur at the agency, home, jail, or school. Therapists specialize in trauma focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, adoption, art therapy, parent child interactive therapy, and motivational interviewing.

Substance use and addictions services include evaluations, counseling, and intervention. Things that may be addressed in a session could include, but not limited to, the following: cannabis, alcohol, methamphetamine, hallucinogens, prescription drugs, gambling, sex, and impulse buying. These sessions may occur at the agency or school.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) helps individuals start the substance abuse recovery journey. The program is individualized and typically lasts approximately three months. Upon the participant's completion of the intensive treatment phase, they transfer to participation in the aftercare group.

Disaster mental health services.

Provides confidential counseling in a safe setting to anyone, regardless of faith or background. Counselors help individuals, couples, and families maintain emotional health and strengthen relationships. Office hours may vary per office location. Evening appointments and telehealth are available. Insurance is accepted, as well as a generous sliding fee scale. No one is turned away for their inability to pay. Advanced graduate students in training offer counseling for individuals, couples and families. Students are supervised by AAMFT approved supervisors and clinical faculty from the Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies. Clients may call for an appointment, and an initial interview is usually made within 24 business hours.

Common issues addressed include relationship conflicts, parent-child conflicts, depression, anxiety, domestic abuse, child abuse, self-esteem issues, cultural issues, anger management, divorce adjustment, school problems, behavior problems with children and adolescents, traumatic experience issues, and LBGTQ issues.

Offers counseling services to families, groups, and individuals. In addition, the practice may offer Teletherapy services for people who cannot travel to the office.

Types of counseling services available include: Adolescent/youth, bereavement/grief, child abuse, child sexual abuse, crime victim/witness, divorce, eating disorders, gender identity, health/disability related, internet addiction, marriage, miscarriage, over-spender, parent counseling, post-abortion, premarital, sexual orientation, sexuality, spouse/domestic partner abuse, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
