Provides a variety of education programs to better the health of the community. Many of these programs are funded through grants, and are offered at little or no cost to the residents.

Programs include:

-- Sexual Health Education: Provides Making Proud Choices! (CUPHD's age-appropriate, comprehensive sex education programming) and sexual health resources

-- Tobacco Initiatives: Provides a Youth Tobacco Prevention, Smoke-Free Illinois Act Enforcement, and Tobacco Prevention Coalition programs. Also provides information regarding the health effects of e-cigarettes

-- Community Health Resources: Provides the Germ Busters, Worksite Wellness, Physical Activity and Active Transportation, and Period Product Drive programs. Also provides information regarding statistics and policies related to chronic diseases and obesity

-- Adolescent Health Services: Provides the Adolescent Health Program, resources and support groups for affordable substance abuse treatment services, resources for affordable mental and behavioral health care

Outpatient substance use disorder services are available for persons who have used drugs or alcohol or have been diagnosed as chemically dependent, if they can be treated in the community.

Individualized Treatment Services includes, comprehensive mental health and substance use assessment, counseling services, crisis stabilization, life skills development, and dual diagnosis services.

Substance use treatment services includes, outpatient treatment services, DUI evaluations and risk education, substance abuse education, substance use counseling, and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Psychiatric services include, medication assessment, medication monitoring, psychiatric services available in all Sinnissippi Centers' main office locations.

Offers tobacco cessation programs and counseling from a health care provider or trained counselor. Quitline Iowa offers Quit Coaches to help individuals figure out how to quit and stay tobacco free. Call 1-800-QUIT-NOW or enroll online for further assistance with quitting. Also offers a Youth Tobacco Prevention program for youth needing help with quitting.

The programs include presentations on alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, puppet pals, peer helper training, conflict management training, and consultation on substance abuse issues. Programs are centered around healthy lifestyles and healthy choices. Mentoring program is also available.

Assessment for Substance Use Disorders

Provides counseling and advocacy to victims and survivors of drunk and drugged driving. Also offer information about the judicial process, individual and family support.

HOTLINE is answered 24 hours/day by a trained victim advocate during business hours and an answering service nights and weekends. Victim advocates are on call 24 hours/day via a pager system. In many cases victims are referred back to MADD Chapters in their community or MADD state offices. Local number reaches an answering machine with advocate response to victims within 24 hours. The victim advocate at the national office will handle the case if appropriate or if no local chapter is available. Injured persons and supporters as well as those for survivors dealing with the death of a loved one through the actions of a drunken driver.

Offers public health programs and services and works closely with the county Board of Health. Also provides information about communicable diseases.

Professional Partner program serves children, adolescents, and young adults who have serious emotional disorders and their families; provides intensive therapeutic case management program tailored to meet the needs of each youth and family.

Emergency Community Support program provides follow-up, continuity, and coordination services for individuals who have been admitted to emergency or civil protective custody.

Regional Housing Coordination provides rental assistance for adults who are low income and experience a serious mental illness to obtain safe housing at an affordable cost; must have referral from a community support worker or other behavioral health worker.

Regional Consumer Specialist (RCS) serves as an advocate and liaison to consumers of behavioral health services, including consumers of services which are designed to lead toward wellness and recovery from mental illness, substance abuse, or problem gambling; the RCS is available to consumers of all ages, their families and support system, throughout Region 3's geographic area.
