Nationally accredited museum with five permanent exhibit galleries and two rotating galleries. The museum is dedicated to telling the story of McLean County through programs which serve people of all ages. Features seven exhibit galleries, preserves more than 18,000 objects, makes available more than 15,00 rare and hard-to-find books on local history and genealogy, and manages 2,000 feet of historical papers and images in its archives.

Built in 1894 on the west wing of the State Capitol building Des Moines. This historic building went a renovation from 1999-2001 bringing back its original colors and state. Tourist can admire its architectural beauty during opening hours.

Provides library services to anyone who obtains a state library card.

Salisbury House Museum is a 42 room mansion modeled after the King's House in Salisburg, England. Built in the 1920s by Iowan's Carl and Edith Weeks, the home contains authentic 16th century English Oak, English flintwork, and even rafters that date back to Shakespeare's day. It is filled with a world class collection of original art, rare books, tapestries and furnishings.
