YSS Supportive Housing programs help get young adults into safe, secure housing so they can focus on building a brighter future. These programs provide living options that center on participants achieving self-sufficiency. YSS advocates work one-on-one with the participants to create a plan to acquire safe and secure housing, stable employment, and financial stability.

Programs include:
Transitional Living Program (Ames, Boone, Marshalltown) - Single individuals ages 16-21
Rapid Rehousing (Ames, Boone, Des Moines, Marshalltown) - Single individuals ages 18-24
Lighthouse (Boone, Des Moines) - Families with parents ages 16-24
Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (Des Moines) - Single individuals or families ages 18-24 based on income

Doanes Park Youth Center provides a wide variety of recreational opportunities and services for youth ages 8 to 18. The Youth Center features a 200 person room suitable for meetings and catered events. A great place for rehearsal dinners, birthday and anniversary parties, holiday gatherings and showers.
Youth center offering basketball, computer labs, tutoring, kid's and teen's programs, recreation, leadership training, youth employment, Bible studies, and a safe, fun place for youth to go.

Youth development and drop-in center which offers sound recording studio ,visual arts studio, gallery, drama, art workshops, support groups, youth volunteer opportunities, after school programs.
Offers youth an intentional place to build relationships with positive adults and their peers. During Hang Out youth can choose to watch a video, play video games, create art or music, and connect with their peers. UAY staff are trained in Positive Youth Development, which allows them to build meaningful relationships with the young people who attend the Youth Center. The Youth Center is open to all Junior High and High School Students.

High school students gain valuable skills in communication, team work and problem solving while working on an urban farm. They also learn about food systems, explore social justice issues and serve the community

Provides a supervised, safe environment for students to go after school and all day during the summer. Homework assistance, skill building, arts and crafts, snacks, and special projects are offered. Field trips, community service projects, family events, and lock-ins are held periodically.
