Provides funding for human service agencies in South Central Illinois.

Provides financial assistance to individuals with disabilities and the agencies that serve them in Jo Daviess. The foundation requires the submission of grant applications in order to disburse funds. Immediate need funding requests may be submitted directly to the Executive Director or the Grant/Gifting Chair of the Hope Foundation of Jo Daviess County.

Requests for grants must be related, but not limited to:

- Health.

- Housing.

- Transportation.

- Education.

- Employment.

Collects and distributes funds to agencies in various communities in southern Kane and Kendall Counties.

Also provides information and referrals to and about United Way funded agencies.

Public charity, donor advised funds, scholarships and nonprofit grants.
Provides support, coordinates, and funds area agencies that provide a human service. United Way does not provide direct client service, but works with area agencies.
Performs periodic needs assessment, yearly campaign for non-profit programs provided by partner agencies, provide management training for non-profits, provide small grants for programs, and coordinate community services.

Provides endowments and donor services, stewardship, grant making, and community initiatives to organizations within DeKalb county.

Grants are awarded in the areas of arts and culture, community development, environment and animal welfare, education, health and human services, and nonprofit capacity building.

Provides financial oversight and collaboration between agencies.

Provides services, expertise regarding community needs, strategic investments, grants and support to nonprofits, and leadership on important community issues and opportunities.

Implements annual fundraising campaign, works with community partners to help those most in need, acquaints union members with the community's health and human services, makes referrals to services in the community.

Works to build trustworthy collaborations, facilitates the creation of common goals, and equips people and organizations with a shared network of resources.

Focuses on solving problems within the community related to housing and homelessness, youth engagement, human trafficking, and unity and equity.

Funds raised in the community are distributed to programs based on United Way focus areas:

- HEALTHY COMMUNITY: Invests in strategies that promote access to preventive and ongoing healthcare, recovery, and wellness supports across the lifespan. This includes maternal and child health, substance misuse prevention and recovery, and partnerships with CHAD agencies that deliver essential health services.

- YOUTH OPPORTUNITY: Focuses on ensuring every child and youth has access to equitable opportunities for growth, learning, and success. Strategies include childcare and early childhood education, in-school, after-school, and summer learning, youth literacy development, college and career readiness, and youth behavioral health.

- COMMUNITY RESILIENCY: Strengthens community resilience by ensuring individuals and families can meet their most basic needs while building pathways to stability. Strategies include homeless outreach and emergency shelters, housing stabilization through emergency rental and utility assistance and transitional living assistance, disaster relief and recovery, food access, and victim safety and recovery.

- FINANCIAL SECURITY: Focuses on increasing economic stability and upward mobility for individuals and families. Strategies include adult education and literacy, job training and career pathways, and financial education and coaching.

Provides public foundation established to address the needs of girls and women in the Greater Des Moines area. Lead community improvement by assuring the well-being of girls and women through education, grant-making, and philanthropy.
