The Grinnell United Way is a completely volunteer-based organization that is helping build a stronger and more supportive community by partnering with local non-profits that share a common goal of developing solutions for dealing with education, financial, and health hardships.

Provides leadership to ensure the prevention and treatment of mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, and traumatic brain injury by identifying, planning, coordinating, fostering development, and contracting for quality services for all citizens. Responsibilities include allocating county funds designated for mental health services and providing community education programming.

Shriner's Hospital for Children is a one-of-a-kind international health care system dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs. Children up to the age of 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for admission and receive all care in a family-centered environment.

Provides grants to area programs and agencies that focus on building economic mobility, fostering childhood success, improving access to healthcare and supporting safety net services.
