Serves as the primary contact for persons seeking information about the actions and procedures of the Iowa General Assembly. It instructs and informs the public about the Legislature and about the legislative process.
Maintains official records of all legislative business that include the Legislative Journal, bill indexes, committee hearing schedules, rosters, bill status information, and legislative histories and handles other official papers and communications of the Legislature.

-- Oversees the printing and distribution of bills, resolutions and amendments.
-- Produces the website, informational brochures, a weekly newsletter and the Nebraska Blue Book.
-- Handles lobbyist registration and quarterly reports; oversees the use of legislative space.

Provides voter registration and education on local, state and national elections focusing on issues, not candidates. Topics include legislation, reform, community improvement, voting access, transparency of government, naturalization ceremonies, citizenship, reproductive rights, human trafficking, environment, gun safety and many others.
