Serves as the primary contact for persons seeking information about the actions and procedures of the Iowa General Assembly. It instructs and informs the public about the Legislature and about the legislative process.

Provides voter information and information on various governmental at the local, state, and national levels, working actively in legislation, reform, and community improvement. Provides education about issues of concern to Iowa residents, including Voting access, Transparency and Citizenship, Education, Reproductive Rights, Human Trafficking, Environment, and Gun Safety.
Maintains official records of all legislative business that include the Legislative Journal, bill indexes, committee hearing schedules, rosters, bill status information, and legislative histories and handles other official papers and communications of the Legislature.

-- Oversees the printing and distribution of bills, resolutions and amendments.
-- Produces the website, informational brochures, a weekly newsletter and the Nebraska Blue Book.
