Provides Housing and Urban Development funds to cover some of the cost of rent for eligible individuals and families. Under the program the participant(s) pay 30% of their income toward rent and the Section 8 funds will cover the additional monthly cost.

Assists persons who have a past due notice or are shut off for Black Hills gas and Lincoln Electric System when funds are available. Must meet eligibility requirements. Individuals may apply a maximum of once per year.

Recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) as a qualified immigration legal service provider. All practicing immigration specialists have received extensive education and training in immigration law and have obtained BIA accreditation. An immigration attorney is also available for individuals in removal or deportation proceedings who need representation in Immigration Court.

Offers affordable, quality immigration legal assistance to refugees, immigrants and asylees. Minimal fees for service are charged on a sliding scale.

Services include assistance with family petitions, citizenship, permanent residence, travel documents, Nicaraguan and Central American Relief Act (NACARA), Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). LFS immigration specialists assist in the entire process from completing the necessary application to representation at the USCIS Naturalization Interview.

Provides the opportunity for the mentor (Big) to visit their Little in the child's school, after school program, or at another youth-serving agency. This allows for the mentor to meet in a more structured environment than out in the community, usually for about an hour per week.

Provides temporary homes for children of families in crisis. Services allow parents an opportunity to resolve a temporary crisis while reducing risk of abuse, neglect, and isolation for children. Connects families with a family friend, who offers a healthy relational support as the family navigates the situation. Also connects the family with a family coach, who can provide linkage to services in the community and set goals to reach a place of stability. 

Provides a voucher program to assist the homeless population to find shelter. This program is available in Adams, Brown, Pike and Schuyler counties. In Adams County, clients must have a referral from the Salvation Army. Participants are required to do job searches each week and participate in weekly Job Clubs with the goal to transition into permanent housing.

Helps increase access to education and employment, among other supports. Services include:

- Seeking expungements and sealing criminal records, restoring driver’s licenses, and removing other barriers to employment, education and housing.

- SNAP and TANF denials, calculations, overpayments and sanctions.

- Special education, school discipline, and school enrollment issues.

- Community Care Program and Home Services Program issues.

- Tax disputes with IRS, including innocent spouse relief, identity theft, and collections.
