Offers to help to improve the quality of life for rural Americans by ensuring that they have access to safe, well-built, affordable homes. Subsidized Housing lists are available for those looking for subsidized housing.

Maintains county parks and recreation areas and provides hunter safety classes, camping, fishing and boating information. Outdoor recreational opportunities are available through county parks and outdoor wildlife areas.

Offers to develops new services to help people realize a greater sense of self sufficiency and is an advocate in support of policies and services that address the needs of individuals and families striving for economic security.

Provides emergency financial assistance for rent and/or utilities for Kankakee Township residents who've received a legal eviction notice and/or a disconnect notice from their utility supplier. This program is an income based program.

Offers employment and training services including job counseling, assessment, resume preparation, and interview coaching. Additional services include job matching and referral, information on unemployment insurance and financial aid, and referrals for job training, transportation, childcare, and other human services.

Provides computer-based English and Spanish language instruction via Rosetta Stone. 

Provides a food pantry available to Kane County area residents once every two weeks.

Provides help to reconnect CWLP or Ameren Illinois service at current address or stop a disconnection. May be eligible for a $300 grant ($400 if applicant has children, if service has been disconnected).

Free five-day summer camp for kids with cancer and their siblings located in Fremont, Nebraska, at Calvin Crest. Year-round activities also planned.

Camp in 2025 is being held from July 7-July 12.

Offers early childhood education to children through the local school district. Half-day or full-day schedules may be available.

Provides emergency assistance for utilities, housing (including rent and mortgage assistance), some medical expenses, and gas vouchers. Consideration may be given to other emergencies to determine if it is a necessity. Does not assist with housing/utility deposits.

Investigates reports of child abuse and neglect. For confidentiality reasons, do not report abuses via email.

Offers internal medicine, pediatrics, general health care services, as well as ancillary services including laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, nutrition, mental health counseling, health education and translation services.
