Services Include:

- Skilled Nursing Care Provided by a Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse.

- Medical Social Worker.

- Occupational Therapy.

- Speech Therapy.

- Physical Therapy.

Provides medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and other equipment as available. Donations are accepted. 

Provides record keeping services for the county. Including all civil, probate, traffic, criminal, and juvenile cases. Also collects and disperses all monies ordered to be paid by the court. 

Provides an outdoor rink that will be open for the winter season, weather permitting. It is located at 2500 Grand Avenue in West Des Moines.

Provides a structured residential environment for eligible male and female individuals. The program typically lasts approximately four months, with a maximum legal placement period of one year.

Offers a wide range of behavioral healthcare and integrated care services. Services include the following:

Individualized Treatment Services includes, comprehensive mental health and substance use assessment, counseling services, crisis stabilization, life skills development, and dual diagnosis services.

Substance use treatment services includes, outpatient treatment services, DUI evaluations and risk education, substance abuse education, substance use counseling, and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Psychiatric services include, medication assessment, medication monitoring, psychiatric services available in all Sinnissippi Centers' main office locations.

Provides an adult education program with information on how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

Provides a homeless coordinated entry access point to the Coordinated Entry System. Anyone experiencing homelessness in Bond, Clinton, Marion, and Washington counties can call for further assistance.

Provides Protective Payee Services (PPS) to individuals who need assistance managing their finances. Services help individuals develop financial management skills and maintain as much independence as possible. PPS may serve individuals with disabilities, mental health conditions, limited financial skills, or older adults at risk of financial exploitation.

Provides trained volunteer mentors to at-risk children in need of a positive adult role model, by working in partnership with the children, their families and the community. Programs include: ONE-ON-ONE PROGRAM: matches a volunteer mentor with a Child in Need of Assistance or through a referral from our local school districts. Mentor Iowa works directly with the Department of Human Services (DHHS), Juvenile Court Services and local school districts who identify children who could benefit from having a mentor. EARLY SERVICES PROJECT (ESP) -Working with Juvenile Court Services, Orchard Place Child Guidance Center, and the Des Moines Public School District, Mentor Iowa provides mentoring services to children, ages 4 – 11, who have committed a minor delinquent act. TRANSITION PROGRAM - A collaboration with JCS, Des Moines Public School District and Sequel Care. Mentor Iowa provides mentoring services to teens, ages 14 and up, who are reentering the community after an out of home placement due to a crime they committed. TRUANCY COURT - A collaboration with Truancy Court, Des Moines Public Schools and the Polk County Attorney’s office. Mentor Iowa volunteers are matched with referred middle school students who have a history of truancy.

Immediate care provides treatment for injuries and ailments such as:

- Cold, sore throat, and flu.

- Cuts needing stitches.

- Dehydration.

- Earaches.

- Fever over 100.4 F.

- Food poisoning.

- Fractures and minor burns.

- Laboratory and imaging.

- Nausea and vomiting.

- Nosebleeds.

- Rashes.

- Respiratory and sinus infections.

- Sprains and strains.

- Urinary tract infections.

Offers FIP (Family Investment Program) a cash assistance program for children and their families who have low income, also available to relatives caring for children whose parents are not in the home. The goal of FIP is to help families leave poverty and become self supporting, can participate for up to 60 months. FIP is Iowa's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.

Offers a food pantry for area residents.

Provides management and maintenance for vital records like birth certificates, death certificates, marriage license, property tax and county elections.

Handles federal court matters, including U.S. bankruptcy court.

Provides an emergency shelter during the coldest 6 months of the year from mid-October to mid-April. This is one of the coordinated entry points for anyone homeless in the area. 

Provides seniors with volunteers that can take them to necessary appointments.

Provides individuals with mental illness the opportunity to learn skills that will allow them to live, learn, work and socialize in the community.

- Employment agency for job seekers with developmental disabilities.

- Career planning, job placement, and ongoing support and consultation to employee and employer.

- Provides community based day services, residential supports, and respite services.

- Diversity training to employers on working with people experiencing developmental disabilities.

Addresses local community planning and economic development through initiatives such as community engagement, leadership development, economic development, improving regional food systems and creating welcoming recreational and functional spaces.
