Offers MEDICAID (Medical Assistance) to people who are low income and aged (65 and older), disabled (including blindness), women needing treatment for cancer or pre-cancerous conditions of breast or cervix (who have been screened and diagnosed through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection program and who do not have credible health insurance coverage), children under 21 years of age, pregnant women, parents or other caretaker relatives of children under age 18 (or under age 19 if they are attending secondary school and are expected to graduate before age 19). Medicaid will pay the costs of Health care, Dental care, In-home health care, Nursing facility care or Residential facility care.

Offers a free laundry service once a month for anyone who comes to a local laundromat. Provides washer pods, dryer sheets and the quarters for the machines. 

Provides a specialized residential treatment program for delinquent adolescents in response to serious anti-social behavior. Referred youth may be victims of abuse, neglect, exploitation, violence, emotionally disturbed, behavioral disorder, runaways, homeless, alleged delinquents who do not require a secure setting or any youth in similar crisis situations that may place them at risk.

Intended to help homeless or at risk for homeless veterans live as independently as possible in the community.

- Participants live in apartments (5 beds) on The Salvation Army’s Renaissance Village campus for up to 24 months.

- Provides case management three times a month to all participants.

- Participants pay 30% of their adjusted income for a service fee. Participants are required to do 30 hours per week in either work, educational groups at the VA, school, or volunteerism.

- Case management focuses on developing a housing plan, debt repayment and obtaining housing upon exiting the program. Works with the person to obtain public entitlements that they may be eligible for and obtaining community resource to help them stabilize.

- Includes Hospital to Housing and Service Intensive models.

Provides full library access and services. CDs, movies, and video games may also be available in addition to traditional print reference materials. Some materials may be accessed online using library card.

Offers library services. 

Provides research-based strategies to support the holistic development of the young child. Offers information and/or classes about parenting, grandparenting, discipline, child care selection, children and divorce, and money management.

Offers online professional development for early childhood professionals.

Offers Health and Safety classes. Services include First Aid, Adult, Child and Infant CPR, Babysitting, Pet First Aid, Life Guarding, Water Safety and the Annual Learn to Swim Program. Provide First Aid Stations for selected activities throughout the state of Iowa. Facilitates the sale of and provide training for Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). HEALTH EDUCATION provides educational talks and demonstrations on HIV/AIDS, Your Heart Matters, Workplace Violence Awareness, Protect Your Back, Ergonomics, Managing Stress, Avian Flu 101, HIV/AIDS, and Slips Trips and Falls.

Provides information on communicable diseases and offers details about immunization programs, including general immunizations and COVID-19 vaccination clinics.

Offers a variety of mental health support groups. Groups include divorce care for individuals going through divorce or separation; individuals meet and watch a video seminar then discuss their experience with divorce. Community freedom support groups are for individuals who were previously incarcerated and their families; individuals meet and receive resources to help with transition back into society. Parents of prodigal support groups are for mothers of children with addictions; individuals meet online and receive support and guidance. Anxiety women support group are for women with anxiety, individuals meet at the Plainfield location or online and receive support and encouragement. Boundaries women support group meet and learn biblically based ways to set healthy boundaries with others. 

Law enforcement agency.

A community-led initiative to help families move from crisis to stability. Using resource navigation and shared case management, the program brings services together so families can access help through one coordinated system. Participants work with Thrive Navigators who connect them to existing community resources, speak up for their needs, and help coordinate services among providers.

Offers internal medicine, pediatrics, general health care services, as well as ancillary services including laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, nutrition, mental health counseling, health education and translation services.

Offers law enforcement services to the Buena Vista County area. Issues gun/firearm permits, runs requested background checks, and manages the county Jail.

County level services provide direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs. Personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents. Must have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge from active duty wartime service and must be a resident in Nebraska for the past one year and 6 months of that year in Pawnee County.

State level services do not require war time service and include the following: completes applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund, fee exempt fishing and hunting permits, applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes, and waivers of tuition.

Federal level services provides and/or completes Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to the following: service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, burial allowance, grave markers/headstones, educational benefits, home loans, and insurance.

Provides in home services to assist individuals with living successfully with mental illness and developing the skills necessary to advance to a less restrictive, community-based setting.
