Home delivered meals are provided to homebound by reason of illness, disability or isolation. The meals meet 1/3 of the daily dietary recommended needs of adults 60 years and over and the requirements of the Older Americans Act and state and local laws.

Provides inspections on private wells (sampling, testing, & plugging), permitting, private septic, Rabies control, public health nuisances, Inspections ( tattoo, tanning, & pool), bed bugs, head lice issues, and Radon testing.

Individual Placement and Support (IPS) works to assist individuals living with mental illness to find and maintain competitive employment. Services include helping write a resume, practice interviewing skills, and problem solve obstacles to working (i.e. lack of transportation, legal history, etc.). Can also provide transportation in the job search or in attending an interview and will stay involved after a job has been obtained to provide support during those first days and weeks of working. Services are initiated with a vocational assessment that addresses a person's job preferences and goals.

Provides help to children to reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with mentors that have a measurable impact on youth.

Provides eye exams for those in need. Patients may qualify for a free exam and a free pair of glasses through a grant from Lions Club District 1J.

Provides family and leisure recreation services, a wellness center, day camp, sports, swimming, and open space to the community.

Offers to assist a relative caregiver who wants to obtain guardianship through probate court of a relative's child living in the home of the caregiver. This includes

- Educating and helping the caregiver negotiate the probate court system.

• Assisting caregivers to obtain required documents.
• Arranging for legal counsel in counties where legal counsel is necessary.

  EFSP caseworkers meet with the relative caregiver monthly until guardianship has been obtained or until other services have been provided. These services can include crisis intervention, applying for benefits, working with local schools for the child's enrollment, and referral to a range of needed services that the caregiver may have to help meet the basic needs of the family.

Provides democratically-ran, self-supported recovery homes for those suffering from substance abuse. Each home has weekly house meetings to support one another through recovery.

Offers a program for parents and youth individuals ages 10-14 to work together and build relationships. Participants will practice skills, play learning games, and do family projects in highly interactive sessions. Sessions are designed to increase family bonding, build positive communication skills, and solve problems together. 

HCBS (HOME AND COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES) programs provide training and support to people living in shared homes in the community with opportunities for learning skills to help develop independence. (Pella/Knoxville and Indianola/Des Moines regions).  SPIRITUAL SERVICES are available to all clients.

Provides augmentative and alternative communication options through assistive technology, which enables children and youth with disabilities to participate more fully in all aspects of life. Augmentative and Alternative Communication includes various communication methods that enhance or replace verbal speech or writing for individuals with communication disabilities. Advocates for nursing home residents' rights, investigates complaints and abuse allegations, provides consultation on how to choose a nursing home, and mediates solutions to problems. Works with families and residents.

Provides education and outreach services, receives, investigates, and acts on alleged discrimination complaints, and provides referrals to Iowa Civil Rights Commission.

Offers trauma recovery therapy/EMDR, individual, family, couple, and child; EMDR/healing trauma, play therapy, interactive problem solving, behavioral health intervention, pre-marriage and marriage counseling, tele-mental-health therapy. Assessment services: Mental health evaluation for bariatric surgery.  STEPPS: A Dialectical Behavioral Therapy group to help manage high emotions or Emotionally Intense episodes. A therapeutic group that includes a skill building process that builds upon each other. 

Stairways: An advanced group for those who have completed the STEPPs group. The group teaches a variety of emotional and behavioral management skills that build off of foundations learned in STEPPs. 

Provides home health services including CNA, house cleaning, personal cares, meal prep, companionship, transportation, IT support, handyman services, lawn care, and snow removal.

Provides general assistance for qualified individuals in need who are ineligible for any other forms of government support. May also provide temporary financial assistance for expenses such as rent and utilities as well as food and other services.

Helpline offers a gambling assessment.  Provides individualized treatment plans for those struggling with a gambling problem. The intensity of treatment, the length of treatment, and the goals to be achieved are based on individual client need and agreement.
