Provides vocational training and employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities or other applicable handicaps to employment.

Program assists with, evaluation or assessment of vocational skills. Work adjustment training, development and improvement of work skills, habits, and attitudes. Work services: Continued training and counseling for trainees who have completed initial training but not reach levels suitable for community employment. 

Placement Services Provides experience, education, and placement assistance in community jobs and follow-up services.

Advocates for and monitors the delivery of high quality and appropriate healthcare benefits and services. Assists in identifying and securing veterans benefits and other benefits for spinal cord injured and diseased veterans and others as appropriate. Promotes medical research to cure spinal cord dysfunction and other related problems. Educates society on the attitudinal, physical and legal barriers which confront persons with disabilities and influences the removal of those barriers. Provides information to and opportunities for health promotion, recreation, employment, sports, services and camaraderie for spinal cord injured and diseased veterans and others as appropriate. Provides for cooperation with and seek the support of other groups and individuals who share PVA's objectives. Offers to help build affordable homes for individuals in need. Most of the homes are 3 bedrooms with 1.5 bathrooms, or 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. Including a driveway, crawlspace, storage shed and a refrigerator. 

Provides peer recovery and support services for those going through or dealing with a mental health issue. Support is also offered to family members.

Childhood immunizations, some adult immunizations, flu, and Covid immunizations. Breastfeeding assistance and education, parenting classes, TB treatment, and assisting families in finding medical and dental care. Case management is provided to reduce lead and other household environmental exposures, such as Radon.

Serves seniors with the goal of helping them remain safe and in their homes for as long as possible. The program focuses on chronic disease prevention, nutrition, and physical activity. Department nurses offer low-cost foot care and blood pressure screenings, home visitations, and educational presentations. Staff works with community partners, reaching most program participants through senior centers, churches, and independent senior living communities.

Provides law enforcement services to the community of Carpentersville. 

Provides property assessment, property value information, Homestead, Veteran and Family Farm Credit sign up.

Provides food and personal hygiene grooming products, including diapers, to families in need. Food vouchers to local grocery stores for fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, milk, bread, potatoes, cheese, laundry soap, dish soap and toilet paper may also be available.

Home-delivered meals for seniors aged 60 and over; provides a hot lunch meal.

Helps households to conserve fuel and reduce energy costs by making their homes and apartments more energy efficient through weatherization. Also provides many health and safety upgrades.

Services include:

- Air sealing

- Attic and wall insulation

- HVAC repair or replacement

- Electric base load reduction (lighting and refrigerator replacement)

- Ventilation and moisture control measures (and other health/safety measures)

​Each child will receive a minimum of 1 toy and stocking stuffer. Children must be 18 or younger to participate. Children do not need to be present while registering or during pick up. Toys are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each child may only receive toys once. This is a Toys for Tots event.

Pre-registration is required. Registrants must come into the Bidwell Pantry to sign up for the Holiday Toy Pantry. Registration is between 10 am-4 pm Monday through Friday from November 1, 2025 through November 30, 2025 OR until the event is full.

Properties are located in Oregon, Polo, and Forreston. Rent is based on 30% of the applicants income with a minimum rent of $50 per month. There are also established ceiling rents, so depending on the size of the apartment, the rent will not go over a certain amount.

-- Housing Choice Voucher Program:  For this program, participants seek housing in the private rental market. Tenants pay 30% of the rent which is based on their income and the housing authority pays the balance due to the landlord. There is currently an open waiting list for Section 8 vouchers.
