Callers should leave their name, phone number, brief description of their legal problem, and whether the issue is urgent. Callers will receive a call back from an experienced Iowa Legal Aid staff member to go through a screening. Callers who meet Iowa Legal Aid’s guidelines will be connected with an Iowa Legal Aid attorney.

Provides supportive living services to those in need. This program is the next step in community independence. People live on their own and receive staff support at least once a week in their home. 

Provides engineering and design of County roadway projects, including local resurfacing and bridge replacement. The division is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the County Secondary Road System, including ditch cleaning, roadway surface repairs, bridge and culvert repairs, and snow removal.

Anyone in Polk County that would like to have the food delivered to their home can call for further assistance.

Provides a food pantry and food box pick-up for the families and employees of Community Unit School District 300 (D300), as well as Elgin Community College students. Registration is required in order to receive access to the pantry.

In the event of a documentable emergency, D300 can provide emergency food distributions.

Provides a joint effort of Foundation 2, Horizons, ASAC, Abbe Center, Tanager Place and St. Luke's with the common goal of serving youth with immediate mental health or substance abuse needs quickly. If there are concerns about a youth in crisis, J-FAST can meet to discuss options. Issues covered include depression, cutting, violent behavior, substance abuse and thoughts of suicide. J-Fast can be at any Linn County location within an hour of the call. Additional services include Assessment and Referrals, Case Management.
