Trick-or-Treat in Johnston is October 31, from 6 pm-8 pm. 

Elder Rights Specialists provide resources and information for individuals and families who have concerns for the safety and well-being of older adults at risk of experiencing abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation. Also offers community training and education activities to impart knowledge, experience, skills.

Provides transportation to any person 60 years or older with pick-up site in Logan or Mason County. Transportation Services can be obtained for regular trips to medical appointments or treatment. Trips must be scheduled 24 hours in advance.

Please note: Persons under the age of 60 can utilize transportation but must pay the full fare (suggested donation). Persons over the age of 60 take priority.

Provides in office or telehealth therapy at all locations. Can also provide in-home or in-office behavioral health services for children, ages 4-18 and their families. BHIS services can also be done via telehealth as well.

Works in collaboration with other agencies to provide comprehensive public health planning and response for all hazard disasters (natural or man-made) within the county. The program includes distribution of pharmaceuticals or vaccinations in the event of a bioterrorist attack or pandemic influenza, emergency planning for and tracking of populations with special needs, recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers.

Comprehensive community mental health center.

The BOOST re-entry program enrolls participants age 18+ who are currently incarcerated in, or returning to, Woodbury County, and are set for release in 20-180 days. Participants being released will come from Woodbury County Jail, Woodbury County Electronic Monitoring, and Iowa Department of Corrections 3rd Judicial (RTF). The goal of this program is to help these participants gain employability and reduce recidivism.

Sioux City BOOST Re-entry is an Official Grant of the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance.

Partners with local registered or licensed child care providers to assist families that are in need of childcare when they are experiencing a personal crisis.

Offers, as resources allow, to help refugees and asylees reach economic self-sufficiency and to them with any problems, interests and concerns they may have. The Bureau of Refugee Services works to serve as a central clearinghouse in order to refer refugees and asylees to any resource necessary and available to them. The Bureau is the service agency for all refugees enrolled in FIP, the state welfare reform program. Now offering a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) program. This program will help participants prepare for the class, enroll into the DMACC CDL program at no cost, and obtain a job after completion. Participants will also qualify for “Jump Start” training specially designed to help English Language Learners.

Guides Latinx immigrants on how to obtain citizenship by working with them on studying and practicing in preparation to take the test. Will walk step by step with the student until they become citizens.

Remember for citizenship classes individuals must qualify first and this depends on how long they have had residency and how long ago it was obtained.

Offers a thrift store.

Provides homeless coordination services and a truancy program. Truancy Program assists schools and families with services to ensure children age 6-17 attend school and helps eliminate any obstacles that may prevent this from happening.

Homeless coordination works with homeless children to ensure free, appropriate public education including a priority to preschool programs, the choice of staying in the school of origin or attending the school nearest their shelter or temporary home, immediate enrollment even when medical records cannot be produced at time of enrollment, assistance with transportation, if needed, and helps families with supply needs (i.e., personal hygiene products, undergarments, school supplies, PE clothes, alarm clocks).

Provides the HCC Sports Complex. It is a 34-acre complex home to baseball, basketball, walking path, skate park, and playground.

Recreational programming includes baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, spring/fall soccer, Tae Kwon Do, cheerleading, baton, Zumba, and yoga.

Social programming includes Kids Fun Club, summer day camps, neighborhood playground programs, and building rentals for family/local gatherings.

Educational programming includes senior assistance/seminars, monthly senior luncheon speakers, before/after school programming, and instructional tots classes for children and parents.

Focus program partnership between Lincoln Public Schools and The Bay, providing high school juniors and seniors with the tools, access, and resources to be successful creators (music, video content, art, and more).

Offers information on support services and benefits available for older adults and individuals with disabilities.

Fitness opportunities including cardio and weight training, fitness classes, personal and group training, basketball courts, racquetball courts, as well as a pool, hot tub, steam room, and saunas. Classes and other amenities vary based on location.

Helps sort out the complicated puzzle of Medicare, Medicaid, pharmaceutical assistance, and supplemental health insurance. Certified SHAP counselors can guide seniors to health care plans that include their doctor, cover their medications, and are affordable.

Access point for the community's homeless response system. Individuals and families who are at imminent risk of homelessness (with no house, apartment, etc. to stay tonight) will complete an assessment and receive help to find housing options.
