General counseling (individual, marriage, and family therapy) and chemical dependency evaluations.

Services also include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Parent Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT).

Provides skilled nursing services to persons in their home.

Services provided include

- Home Health Aide: Assists with hygiene care, teaches patients and/or caregivers how to safely bathe and groom the patient, obtains vital signs, looks for abnormalities in skin turgor, and reports any abnormalities.

- Nursing Care: Complicated wound care, IV therapy (including PICC line care and removal), blood testing, staple/suture removal, injections, pre-fill insulin syringes, diabetes education, medication instruction, ostomy and gastrotomy instructions and care, tracheostomy instructions and care, etc.

- Physical therapy.

• Speech therapy.
• Occupational therapy (to re-teach basic living skills).

Provides volunteer drivers in to Story County residents with transportation to and from medical appointments and other essential services. Although not exclusive, our priority is serving Story County’s older adult population.

Provides general, urgent and emergency medical services in Polk County. The inpatient units provide acute care for medical, surgical, pediatric, psychiatric, obstetrical, gynecological problems and mental health services. Outpatient clinics provide medical services that cover a broad range of specialties. Call the clinics for service details.

Provides services to couples and singles in all three programs:

- Agency Assisted Adoption: Includes home study and collaborating with another agency to place through the partnering agency.

- General Domestic Adoption Program: Includes home study and placement of infants, also offer the Sayers Center program which seeks to find homes for African American babies and promote adoption awareness within the African American community.

- Intercountry Program: Includes home study and working with another agency internationally.

Provides guidance and support during periods of match and placement. Conducts post placement visits and reporting in accordance with the placing state or country's requirements.

Provides seniors and/or disabled individuals minor home improvements to help remove barriers that may affect their health and safety in their home (such as repair of non-working heating system, mobility ramp, etc.). Applicant must be the homeowner and live in the home.

Provides substance use disorder services to those in need. Services include individual therapy, peer recovery support, group counseling, and medication assisted treatment (MAT) services. 

Adult education classes, including High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL), literacy tutoring, citizenship test preparation, and more.

Provides forensic therapy for clients within the judicial system (i.e. courts, probation, parole) who are seeking therapy for the behaviors which have led to criminal prosecution.

Forensic services include:

-- Forensic Mental Health and Substance Abuse Evaluations for the courts.

-- Sex Offender Specific Evaluations and Risk Assessments.

-- Violent Offender Specific Evaluations and Risk Assessments.

-- Individual Sessions.

-- Group Therapy.

-- Forensic Consultation.

Offers a food pantry that is available to area residents. Can access once per month. Perry County residents may also receive additional food from the monthly Mobile Market.

Offers a program for parents where nursing professionals and volunteers care for temporarily ill or injured children, infants through adolescents. Parents use this service when they need to go to work or school and cannot stay at home with their sick or injured child. Sick Bay services are provided at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.

Help line for parents, grandparents, babysitters, and caregivers, including tips to calm a crying baby.

Education on prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome.

Offers firefighting services, emergency medical services, and fire prevention.
