Provides police and dispatch services responsible for emergency assessment and response.

Provides out of school programming for youth ages 5-11 at two locations: Jane Boyd Community House and Johnson Steam Academy Magnet School. Offers help with homework, tutoring, recreational activities, and positive social interactions. Achievement Academy programs are licensed childcare centers and enrollment includes a sliding scale fee based on family income. Block grant is also accepted.

The department: Implements the policy decisions made by the Mayor and City Council; coordinates City operations and programs; is responsible for administration of City Departments; supervises the preparation of the agenda for City Council meetings; and handles citizens inquiries and service requests.

Provides an opportunity for families to resolve conflict effectively. Mediation is a process that utilizes the skills of a professional mediator to allow parents the opportunity to negotiate a parenting plan for the best interest of the minor children.

Transportation services for medical and social service appointments.

Provides primary medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare to anyone who visits the clinic, without regard to insurance status or ability to pay. Services include but are not limited to well-child visits, school and sports physicals, prenatal care, chronic disease management, counseling, medication assistance recovery treatment, on-site lab, and on-site pharmacy.

Provides activities and enrichment programs for children and teens.

Provides food and personal hygiene grooming products, including diapers, to families in need. Food vouchers to local grocery stores for fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, milk, bread, potatoes, cheese, laundry soap, dish soap and toilet paper may also be available.
