Educational programs, services, and leadership for public and non-public schools in six Eastern Iowa counties. Services and resources from the Mississippi Bend AEA are available to local schools without charge, except some non-mandated services.

They are intended as a residence for elderly persons 62 and older who meet the eligibility requirements. AHEPA 192 Apartments in Johnston, Iowa, also accept mobility impaired persons ages 21-62. Apartment occupants pay 30% of adjusted net income after qualification. All units are one bedroom or efficiency. Contact each building individually for application.

Provides engineering and design of County roadway projects, including local resurfacing and bridge replacement. Typical energy-saving measures include sealing air leaks, installing insulation in attics, walls and crawl spaces, tuning and upgrading heating systems, and installing low-cost energy conservation measures.

Programs that offer a wide variety of independent living services for individuals with disabilities with the objective of helping them to function more independently in family and community settings and to secure and maintain appropriate employment. Services may include: information and referral, skills training, case management, and peer counseling.

Financial assistance available (when funding is available) to income eligible applicants who have suffered a loss of income through an event that was out of their control. These funds can be used to pay one month rent (no deposits) for those in danger of being evicted from their home due to nonpayment of rent. Assistance is also available to help with water bills.
