Provides education and consumer assistance designed to facilitate enrollment of county residents in the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace through the In-Person Counseling Program.

Access to health insurance through the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace is one of the many changes in the health care and health insurance fields made possible by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). People in need of assistance due to language barriers, technology disadvantages, or a lack of understanding of health insurance can arrange to meet an In-Person Counselor to assist them.

Insurance counseling service for Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers in Champaign County. SHIP counselors:

-- Answer questions about Medicare, Medicare Supplement insurance, long-term care insurance, Medicare managed care plans (HMO, PPO & PFFS) and other health insurance

-- Answer questions regarding prescription drug coverage through Medicare D and other sources

-- Assist in filing Medicare and Medicare Supplement claims

-- Analyze Medicare Supplement and long-term care insurance policies

-- Appeal claim denials

-- Answer questions about Extra Help, a federal program to assist low-income seniors with the costs associated with Medicare D.

Counselors will also assist with the completion of Extra Help applications.

Offers case management and support services to individuals and families who are living with mental illness. Advocates serve as liaison between the individual with the mental illness and their family and professionals while providing support, education, and resources.

Offers skilled care in home for individuals in need of assistance. Services include light housekeeping, cooking and shopping.

Offers Thanksgiving dinners to individuals in need who do not have a place to go and would like to spend time with others within the community. No reservations are required to attend the dinner.

Offers behavioral health services to any child or adolescent in need. Services include psychiatry/medication management, individual therapy, family therapy, substance use disorder services/addiction treatment, crisis services (24/7 Crisis Line, Mobile Crisis, CSCBS), case management, peer support, care team/specialized services, and school-based services (where applicable).

Provides a bus pass, up to 90-days, to individuals who lack transportation to get to their employment and maintain employment. Must already have proof of employment.

Charitable organization, administered by United Way of the Midlands.

Supports the shoe and clothing fund through Omaha Public Schools and Holy Family Door Ministry, as well as emergency financial assistance, distributed through various community agencies.

Therapy services offered at the office or within the home to best meet the needs of the client. The intensity and duration of treatment varies substantially depending on the presenting problems or difficulties. Therapists may assist with various difficulties, including family issues associated with raising youth with severe behavioral problems, aggression, hyperactivity, anxiety, depression, withdrawal behaviors, and suicidal ideation. Therapists are also qualified to treat all major mental health issues.

Offers to help children in grades 4-12 develop knowledge and skills. Services include learning about citizenship, leadership, cooking, arts and crafts, mechanics and technology, horticulture, agriculture, and other subjects. To teach young people about these subjects, the 4-H program uses the learn-by-doing method of instruction.

Provides vaccinations for dogs and cats at the East Peoria location on Sundays and Mondays. Other days the clinic travels to other locations in the area. See website for schedule and locations.

Other services besides vaccinations (including rabies) include: heartworm tests and preventative for dogs, flea and tick preventatives, FIV/FELV tests for cats, microchipping, and deworming.

- Senior Dining Site: Hot, nourishing meals with various activities.

- Home-Delivered Meals: Nutritious meals are provided to seniors who are homebound because of illness, physical or mental impairment, or who are otherwise isolated.

- Transportation: Transportation for business, shopping, doctors appointments, pharmacies, trips to the Sunshine Center, or other community services and events.

Provides help with rent and utilities to those who qualify. For rent or utility assistance, individuals must go through Story County Community Services first.

Coalition made up of various community members including parents, businesses, media, schools, youth-serving organizations, law enforcement, faith-based and civic groups, health care providers, state and local government agencies, and others involved in reducing substance abuse.

Helps those with a problem with gambling. Offers free screenings and provide individual and group counseling.

Provides outpatient alcohol and/or drug use disorder counseling for adults and adolescents.

A non-profit charitable organization in Marshall County supporting 32 programs within 28 health and human service agencies in Marshall County. Can also provide information and referral to people seeking services. Offers volunteer opportunities and accept donations from the public in support of local agencies.
