Children at Home is a program offering help to families caring for a child with a disability by providing financial assistance for items or services not covered by other programs. Contact an Intake and Referral Specialist with any questions as to whether an item/service is allowable. Examples include special adaptive devices, out-of-area travel expenses, nutritional supplements, respite care or educational seminars for caregivers, special camps and items to make your home safe or more accessible for your child.

The Allamakee County Food Pantry provides food for people in need. Food baskets provide fresh, frozen, and non-perishable food items. In addition, non-food items such as diapers, formula, hygiene products, and cleaning products may be available. The supply given is based on need and size of the family. Donations and volunteers are welcome.

Emergency personal care pantry with several days' worth of home/hygiene items. The pantry is intended to provide home/hygiene goods to the individual until they can be on their feet. Hygiene goods are accessible to people experiencing homelessness or those living in situations.

Family's Helping Hand is a non profit that operates out of the Family Resource Center to assist families and bridge gaps that will directly lead to better outcomes for families. Some of the resources Family’s Helping Hand can provide are a mini food pantry including formula/baby food, clothes closet, and household and hygiene supplies. Volunteer opportunities are available. This is a participating TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) food pantry. Enrollment into TEFAP is confidential and requires proof of address and identification. Individuals participating in the FoodShare, School Nutrition Program, WIC, or Senior Meals programs may participate in TEFAP without impacting their ability to qualify for those programs.

Provides assistance in purchasing personal care items, such as laundry detergent, toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, dish soap, cleaning supplies, and adult hygiene products. In addition, an additional voucher may be issued to allow households to purchase diapers, wipes, and creams, up to $100 per child, for children under the age of 5 or a child with a diagnosed disability.

Multiple community micropantry sites in Springfield providing food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies to residents with no other access to these supplies.

Showers and laundry services for people experiencing homelessness available during regular business hours Mon-Fri only. Must meet with an outreach staff person before using the services for the first time.

Mailing address and on-site message service for those who are homeless. Mail pick-up times are Mon-Fri 11 am-1 pm and 5 pm-6:30 pm or by appointment. Messages are posted on the message board in the dining room.
