Help with finding a doctor or dentist for medical/dental care, assistance in obtaining health care coverage, limited financial assistance available for necessary medical and dental care for those uninsured/underinsured, referral to community resources and services, health education and support on a variety of topics, nutrition education and support, dental hygienist services (oral health screenings, fluoride varnish application, referral to treatment), assistance in arranging transportation and translation services.
Provides supplemental food and nutrition education for women, infants and children up to 5 years old. Nutrition education can be offered in a variety of ways, including individual nutrition education, group education, self-study modules and/or internet education. WIC also promotes breastfeeding and offers breastfeeding support through our Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program.
Participants in WIC receive an eWIC card for healthy foods. The foods provided by WIC provide nutrients that are essential for good health and growth. Participants also meet with nurses and dietitians to review health and diet information, discuss important nutrition information for their family, and receive referrals for other services when needed.
