Cresco Recreation Department offers a facility for people of all ages to participate in walking, swimming, exercise, basketball, volleyball, and other fitness activities. Facility includes a zero-entry swimming pool; a walking-running track that circles exercise equipment; a pair of basketball hoops; a gymnasium and stage; rooms for aerobics, dance, tumbling, wrestling, and other activities; a lower level with a golf driving range; softball and baseball hitting cages; rooms for arts and crafts; other activities for public use. Offers many recreation and enrichment programs and services.

The municipal pool provides general swimming water recreational activities for the public. In addition, specific programs are offered including: swim lessons for people with disabilities, parent-infant/toddler and pre-school swim lessons, Red Cross swim lessons (Levels 1-6), Red Cross lifeguard training and water safety classes, and water exercise sessions.

The Waukon Family Aquatic Center is located in the Waukon City Park and offers swimming lessons, water aerobic classes and senior water aerobics. Swim team is available for ages up to 18 years.

Offers programs focusing on disease and injury prevention for older adults and caregivers.

Clinic Programs: Provides comprehensive foot care, health assessments, health screenings (which include blood pressure, cholesterol/triglycerides, glucose, bone density), ear wax removal, medication, and safety checks to inform participants about personal health risks and the things they can do to lower risks and optimize health.

Health and Fitness Programs: Offers fitness and health education classes and physical activity programs, conducted for community, church, and social groups. Programs cover the areas of illness and injury prevention, physical activity, nutrition, and mental wellness. Individuals are encouraged to take measures that decrease risk, promote optimum health, and encourage independent living.

Medical fitness and whole-person wellness. Each participant receives a fitness and balance assessment and an individualized fitness program designed by a degreed exercise science professional. Offers a variety of wellness opportunities including: individualized fitness and wellness programming, exercise equipment, premier whole-person wellness education, health enhancement services, innovative wellness research, educational opportunities for students, and several group Movement Classes included in participation fees.
Offers a wide variety of fitness classes, both in the water and the gym, a full range of equipment in the fitness center, and children's swim lessons.

Fitness and recreation center. Programs include tumbling, ninjazone, pickleball, football, and gymnastics.
Wellness activities include the Fit for Life Fitness Center, as well as exercise/dance classes and health screenings.

Offers activities including game days (cards, bingo, Nintendo Wii games, life-size Jenga); craft activities (painting, crocheting and adult coloring); jam sessions for those who play an instrument or enjoy singing a tune; and Wandering Wednesdays bus trips to explore the destinations around the city and region.

Fitness classes including Silver Sneakers, line dancing, Tai Chi and self-defense classes.

Healthy cooking classes.

Kaleidoscope Cafe Meals are served at 11:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, catered by Hy-Vee - Papillion Shadow Lake. Registration is required by 11 am the day before, and the center can accommodate a maximum of 50 guests during each lunch. Lunches cost $5 per person. Members are also allowed to register a guest of any age to accompany them for the same price.
