Provides vaccinations and immunizations to those who reside in Vermilion County. Call or visit website to find out what type of vaccines/immunizations are available. 

County level services provide direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs. Personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents. Must have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge from active duty or wartime service; must be a resident in Nebraska for the past one year and 6 months of that year in Thayer County.

State level services do not require wartime service. Assist in completing applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund, fee exempt fishing and hunting permits, applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes, and waivers of tuition.

Federal level services provide and/or complete Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, burial allowance, grave markers/headstones, educational benefits, home loans, insurance, indebtedness, and character of service upgrades.

Food pantry offering non-perishable and perishable items. Toiletries are also available.

Food is distributed on Thursdays. Call by Wednesday to reserve a food box and determine pick-up time.

Provides rescue and adoption services. Offering a safe haven for local animals who are strays or have owners who can no longer care for them. Also offers dog training, affordable spay/neuter services, foster program and transport program.

Offers a variety of media (books, movies, music, ebooks, experience kits, magazines, etc.). The library’s peer learning events and classes support learning from birth, through student-life, and beyond. Also provides access to computers.

Provides counseling, crisis intervention, evaluations, consultations, and parent/school administration collaborations at various public schools throughout Clinton County. Students, parents, and school personnel can access a mental health professional in the school setting.

Provides care coordination and family support services to families whose child struggles at school or home due to behavioral health issues.  Also provides integrated health services to adults diagnosed with serious mental illness.

Provides transportation to a variety of destinations including medical appointments to hospitals and clinics in Delaware, Dubuque and Jackson counties. Also provides transportation to the University of Iowa hospitals and clinics.

Provide an opportunity for individuals to connect with others in a confidential, anonymous setting for sharing of a common experience. If telephone meetings are listed as closed, then only people with a desire to stop drinking may attend. If the meeting is listed as open, anyone may attend. Use the AA Phone Meetings website to find meetings.

1st Five aims to increase developmental screening in primary care practices and has a referral system to support children identified as at-risk for developmental delays. 1st Five works with pediatric and family care providers to help link families to the resources and support services their child needs.

Assists military families by identifying and enrolling family members with special medical or educational needs, finding out what services are available at current or new duty stations, and supporting families with information, referrals when appropriate, and non-clinical case management to access services.
