Garfield County offices.

Provides a team of trained volunteers who can mobilize resources to provide post-disaster mental health services. This team is sponsored by the Department of Human Services, Northeast Iowa Behavioral Health and County Social Services.

Provides visits to nursing homes and to those who are homebound, during the weeks of Easter and Christmas.

Offers support groups for individuals who have experienced strokes or cancer and individuals who had weight loss surgery.

DCFS has the primary responsibility of protecting children and strengthening families through the investigation and intervention of suspected child abuse or neglect by parents and other caregivers.

Expedited/Emergency SNAP Benefits may be available (in 5 days or less from the date of application) to eligible clients if:

- Monthly income, cash, and bank accounts are less than client's rent or mortgage plus utility costs, OR

- Monthly income is less than $150 and client's cash and bank accounts are not more than $100, OR

- At least one person in the household is a migrant farm worker and client's cash and bank accounts are not more than $100.

Provides dental care services to children in need. Dental health exams, treatment, and digital dental x-rays are available. Dental health services are available for adults who are established medical patients at Crusader.

Provides in-person and virtual tax assistance to anyone free of charge with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50 or have low-to-moderate income for the 2026 tax season. Free, year-round tax assistance is also available on the Internet. Taxpayers can post tax questions to online tax assistors by visiting the website.

Provides city government services to the Quincy community.

Provides home health care services, provided by registered nurses and home health aides.

Services include catheter care, IV treatment and oxygen/respiratory therapy; and in-home therapy including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.

Assists job seekers with general information on seeking out Registered Apprenticeship opportunities.

- Does not maintain lists of local apprenticeship opportunities. Individuals seeking one-on-one career planning should contact their local American Job Center or Workforce Development Center, to get support in applying for Registered Apprenticeship opportunities.

Assists employers with developing or implementing Registered Apprenticeship programs. Provides technical assistance to potential/existing apprenticeship program sponsors and apprentices.

Offers free community service rides for individuals with disabilities and anyone who are unable to bike independently on biking trails in Bloomington-Normal Illinois, on a adapted bike/wheelchair. 

Provides engineering and design of County roadway projects, including local resurfacing and bridge replacement. The division is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the County Secondary Road System, including ditch cleaning, roadway surface repairs, bridge and culvert repairs, and snow removal.

Provides Nebraskans with a centralized location for viewing their current benefits, including helpful links to take action on their benefits programs.

Offers a before and after school program. Services provide safe, fun, and learning activities for children. From creative arts and hands-on science experiments to games and interactive projects. Assistance with homework is also provided. Bus services may also be provided from local schools. 

Accepts donations of household items, food, small appliances (toasters, toaster ovens, coffee makers, etc.), bedding, towels, kitchen/dining utensils, etc. (No clothing, mattresses, or furniture.)

Focuses on improving the nutrition, food safety, and physical activity of Nebraska's youth and adults. Includes diabetes education.
