Offers SERVSAFE® classes for food service professionals, providing comprehensive training on food hazards, proper food handling practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure food safety and prevent foodborne-illness outbreaks. 

Participants will gain knowledge to improve food quality and learn techniques that support the protection and utilization of food products. The program includes a 6-hour course and certification exam, offering the opportunity to become a certified Food Protection Manager through the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Open to individuals in the restaurant and food service industry, the training also serves as a resource for those involved in commercial food production activities such as farms, aquaculture facilities, and other food-related ventures.

Boy Scouts of America Mid America Council - Omaha

Cub Scouts year-round program uniquely designed to meet the needs of boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade along with their families. Cub Scouting promotes education, character development, and positive self-esteem. Scouts attend weekly meetings, go on camping trips, race their own pinewood derby cars, and help throughout the community. The program promotes outings to local police or fire stations, museums, sporting events (where they learn good sportsmanship), and outdoor adventure. Scouts BSA leadership and character development program for young men and women ages 11 through 18. With the support of adult leaders, Scouts learn self-confidence and develop personal values guided by the ideals found in Scouting. The program offers outdoor high-adventure through camping trips, long-distance hikes, canoeing, whitewater rafting, and more, which help build leadership and self-reliance skills. Scouts have the opportunity to learn about more than 130 different vocational and academic areas by earning Merit Badges. Some examples are American business, aviation, canoeing, communication, crime prevention, engineering, family life, geocaching, law, personal management, and space exploration. Exploring work site-based career education program for young men and women ages 14 through 20. With the support of business and the community, Explorers develop social and leadership skills while gaining real-world career experience. This program is primarily offered in the Omaha metro and surrounding communities. Venturing program for young men and women in high school and college designed to help them grow into responsible and caring adults through education and recreational experiences with an emphasis on high adventure and advanced leadership training. Sea Scouts better citizenship and improved members’ boating skills through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor, social, service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage.

County level services include direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs and personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents. Must have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge from active duty or wartime service and must be a resident in Nebraska for the past one year and 6 months of that year in Burt County.

State level services do not require wartime service and include the following services: completes applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund, fee exempt fishing and hunting permits, applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes, and waivers of tuition.

Federal level services provides and/or completes Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, burial allowance, Grave Makers/headstones, educational benefits, home loans, insurance, indebtedness, and character of service upgrades.
