Specializes in providing assistance to individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families for a full range of life and family issues, including couples problems, depression, anxiety, childhood and adolescent behavioral issues, trauma, and grief.

Staff are also available to provide education seminars or specialized group counseling programs on site to any local organization, school, church, or business; topics include communication, conflict resolution, parent training and education, child and adolescent groups, marital enrichment, and anger management.

Services may be available outside of normal business hours.

Provides police and dispatch services responsible for emergency assessment and response.

HCBS (HOME AND COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES) programs provide training and support to people living in shared homes in the community with opportunities for learning skills to help develop independence. (Pella/Knoxville and Indianola/Des Moines regions).  SPIRITUAL SERVICES are available to all clients.

Provides library services. Services include CDs, movies, and video games may also be available in addition to traditional print reference materials. Some materials may be accessed online using a library card. Additional services may be available computers for internet access and word processing, reference service and interlibrary loan, FAX and photocopy services, state and federal tax forms, and meeting rooms may be available for community non-profit groups.

Developmentally appropriate care and family support to prenatal mothers and low-income families with children, birth to 3 years old. Information and referral to community resources as well as health, nutritional, and social activities. Socializations are held twice a month.

Locations in Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Saline, Thayer, and York Counties.

Energy assistance for eligible low income families.

Offers a 27-week psycho-educational program for adults who have used violence and abuse with an adult intimate partner. Helps participants to recognize and identify abusive behaviors, use non-violent conflict resolution, promote assertive, non-aggressive communication, achieve and maintain healthy and non-abusive parenting skills, and bring awareness of domestic violence.

Oversees the election process, voter registration, maintains financial records for the county, maintains current real estate information and assessment maps.

Counseling services covering a range of topics, including:

- Depression and anxiety.

- Grief and relationship concerns.

- Alcohol and drug use, including opioids and heroin.

- ADHD assessment and treatment.

- Bipolar Disorder.

- Difficult life transitions.

- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

- Health issues related to diet, exercise, tobacco use, etc.

Counseling services also available at certain local schools.

Provides outpatient behavioral health services to those in need. Services include counseling (both individual and group), therapy, supported employment for individuals with mental and behavioral health challenges, and psychosocial rehabilitation (groups to help people with daily living skills and mental illness recovery).

Provides testing of private well water, assistance with and permitting of private sewage disposal systems, health hazards related to the environment, general environmental issues such as radon, rat harborages, dangerous buildings, air quality, unhealthy living conditions, radon test kits, and waste tire collection information.

Provides public health services including promoting health lifestyles, preventive cancer screenings, STI/HIV testing, lead poisoning prevention, communicable disease follow-up, and emergency preparedness,

Interpreting and translating services offered at a discounted rate. Verbal and written translations offered, both in-house and on-site.

Assists caregivers of any age that care for individuals 60 years of age and over. Caregiver Specialist Caseworkers can provide information and resources to both the caregiver and the care receiver.

Offers dental sealants to school children. This program works with Miles of Smiles, who have dentists and hygienists that come into the schools to perform dental exams and place sealants on molars.
