The program also features the Access to Justice (A2J) initiative, a large-scale Community Navigator Program that provides deportation protection education and legal defense. 

Additionally, support may be available to help immigrants and refugees prepare for, find, and retain employment, including vocational assessment, job search assistance, professional mentoring, and guidance to gain recognition for professional experience obtained in another country. These services aim to facilitate successful integration into the workforce and community.

Provides opportunities for individuals in Iowa to move out of Intermediate Care Facilities for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/ID) and into homes in the community of choice. Individuals living in nursing facilities, Psychiatric Medical Institutes for Children (PMIC), and inpatient hospital settings may also qualify. Grant dollars provide funding for the transition services and enhanced supports needed for the first year after a person transitions into the community. MFP assistance is available to individuals with a diagnosis of an intellectual disability or brain injury who have lived in a qualifying facility for at least 60 consecutive days. The individual must express an interest in moving from the facility setting into the community.

Brightpoint - Bloomington Office

Provides doula services to expectant parents. Services include outreach services and in-home coaching to help them learn about pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. Doulas also screen parents for maternal depression, domestic violence, parental stress, and act as a liaison with the hospital staff when necessary during the labor process.

The family remains in the program until the child is 6-8 weeks old and then is referred to long-term home visiting services. The Doula Program also offers an 8-week Parents Care & Share Prenatal Group that connects parents to other parents and covers topics such as prenatal care, stress, nutrition, labor and delivery.
