From achieving employment to securing housing, accessing healthcare to building a support system, professionals leverage individual and team strengths to reach each person’s goals.

Provides medical case management for foster children. The program ensures continuity of medical care, including well child visits, referral, and follow-up with specialists as needed.

Offers before and after school programs. Offering age appropriate activities. 

Also offers extended day programs during selected holidays, scheduled school closings and possibly some emergency closure days. Children do not need to be enrolled in the program year-round to participate in no school days; however, specific DCFS paperwork, including emergency contact information will be required.

-- Crisis Residential: A short-term program available for adults experiencing an acute mental health crisis. This program offers a safe environment for crisis stabilization and links clients to additional resources.

-- Supported Housing: Works with individuals with mental health symptoms that have impacted their ability to live independently. This program works with clients to improve their independent living skills to eventually return to the community.

Provides children's clothing, car seats, and strollers.

Offers two levels of Supported Community Living Services designed to meet the daily living needs of adults with disabilities and mental illness. These services increase a client's independence and provide a level of relief for family members and caretakers. The level of service is determined by the individual, guardians, case managers, and providers to best suit their needs.

Services may include employment assistance, day habilitation programs, and more.

Offers support groups for women, counseling, the Sojourner Truth Library, and referral services to organizations and services of interest to women.

Offers a number of behavioral health, mental health and substance abuse services that are both trauma focused and strengths based. Services offered place a high emphasis on education, practice, and development of new skills to help individuals achieve goals.

The Clinical Services Program expands beyond the Home’s youth to serve other youth and families in the community. Services open to the public:

- Evaluations – Available for individuals who have been court ordered to receive an initial diagnostic interview or for those who need evaluated for mental health, behavioral health or substance abuse treatment.

- Intensive Outpatient Program – A comprehensive, structured therapy program to help adolescents overcome substance abuse and mental health symptoms.

- Outpatient Program – A treatment plan focusing on increasing strengths and resources to help individuals overcome mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.

- Day Reporting – A comprehensive and strengths focused daily program for youth who are struggling in their current environment and are in need of additional structure and activity; located on Omaha Home for Boys campus.

- Family Support – A skill building program for families and youth that helps enhance family functioning in the home and overall functioning in the community.

- Intensive Family Preservation – Directed by a licensed therapist and experienced skill builder, this service offers therapy and skill building for families and youth.

- Food for Seniors: Provides groceries to income eligible seniors in Champaign and Urbana who are in need of food. Groceries are delivered by volunteers on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

- Emergency Food Fund for Seniors: Seniors determined to be in emergent need of food by caseworkers may get food to cover them until other resources are available. (For example, a senior needs food on a Friday when there are no open food pantries). Caseworker will submit a request for emergency funds to shop and deliver food to the senior to cover the weekend.

Issues permits for sign, billboards; construction of buildings, repair, additions, demolitions, move houses, street occupancy, zoning services, tower registration; family daycare, registration; licenses for electrical, heating, air conditioning, and plumbing.

Offers a home health care program. Services include nursing services, social services, physical, speech and occupational therapy, nutrition counseling, wound care management and assistance with personal care. Home infusion services provide IV and infusion therapies to individuals in their homes under the supervision of an IV nurse. 

Offers to help people plan or prevent pregnancy and support reproductive and sexual health. Services may include pregnancy tests, wellness exams, birth control education and supplies, STI testing and treatment, cancer screening, infertility exams and referrals, and reproductive health education. Services are voluntary. Confidential services are available upon request.

Offers Health and Safety classes. Services include First Aid, Adult, Child and Infant CPR, Babysitting, Pet First Aid, Life Guarding, Water Safety and the Annual Learn to Swim Program. Provide First Aid Stations for selected activities throughout the state of Iowa. Facilitates the sale of and provide training for Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). HEALTH EDUCATION provides educational talks and demonstrations on HIV/AIDS, Your Heart Matters, Workplace Violence Awareness, Protect Your Back, Ergonomics, Managing Stress, Avian Flu 101, HIV/AIDS, and Slips Trips and Falls.

A 26-week course that covers:

-- Dynamics of domestic violence.

-- Anger and stress management.

-- Relapse prevention.

Often offered in a group setting.

Offers a variety of library services, book loans, reference services, video and audio book loans. All computer terminals are handicapped accessible. Monthly deliveries are made to local senior centers and daycare centers. Librarians will deliver library materials to those unable to pick up items at the library building. Meeting rooms are available for the public - reservations are required. Library also offers a 'lending library' for items such as disc golf discs, kites, tents, cake pans, and other miscellaneous recreational items.

When funds are available, one-time financial assistance is available for emergency situations for medications, housing, food, utilities, etc.
