LIHEAP (low income home energy assistance program) provides assistance with a utility bill. Applications are accepted November 1 – August 15; for elderly or disabled individuals applications are accepted starting October 1. Income must fall within 200% of poverty guideline. Call for an appointment. A letter has been sent to those who may be eligible for early application in August or September.
Some applicants may qualify for the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), where an eligible client pays a percentage of their income, receives a monthly benefit towards their utility bill, and receives a reduction in overdue payments for every on-time payment they make by the bill due date. If the homeowner's furnace is not working or is dangerous or emitting carbon monoxide into the household, LIHEAP may be able to provide a furnace repair or replacement. Contact for more information.

- Food for Seniors: Provides groceries to income eligible seniors in Champaign and Urbana who are in need of food. Groceries are delivered by volunteers on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
- Emergency Food Fund for Seniors: Seniors determined to be in emergent need of food by caseworkers may get food to cover them until other resources are available. (For example, a senior needs food on a Friday when there are no open food pantries). Caseworker will submit a request for emergency funds to shop and deliver food to the senior to cover the weekend.

Offers various support services to families with children through a cooperative of area churches. Trained volunteers and staff work with parents facing chronic stress or crisis to find resources and supports that can help. The following services are offered with volunteers from local churches:
Crisis Child Hosting: Temporary care of vulnerable children to give parents a safe option during a crisis.
Child Respite Hosting: Hosting children for shorter periods (typically a few hours to a few days a couple of times a month). This provides parents with respite relief and allows for stabilization.
Mentoring and Advocacy Services for Parents: focuses on working with parents to develop goals and relationships/friendships to decrease isolation and increase support for the parent. Advocates can also help parents find local resources to help relieve stress.

The behavioral health providers will work closely with the CHC/SEIA primary care providers who make the referrals to assist patients address their behavioral health concerns.
