Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Outpatient services for individuals, couples and families. Focus areas include relationships, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, trauma and addiction. Licensed therapists work with children and adults of all ages and backgrounds, serving people of all faiths.

Evidence-based approaches include psychotherapy, trauma therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), PCIT (Parent Child Interactional Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing).

LIHEAP (low income home energy assistance program) provides assistance with a utility bill. Applications are accepted November 1 – August 15; for elderly or disabled individuals applications are accepted starting October 1. Income must fall within 200% of poverty guideline. Call for an appointment. A letter has been sent to those who may be eligible for early application in August or September.

Some applicants may qualify for the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), where an eligible client pays a percentage of their income, receives a monthly benefit towards their utility bill, and receives a reduction in overdue payments for every on-time payment they make by the bill due date. If the homeowner's furnace is not working or is dangerous or emitting carbon monoxide into the household, LIHEAP may be able to provide a furnace repair or replacement. Contact for more information.

**This program is not designed to pay a household's total energy costs. The program will provide supplemental assistance based on several factors. This is a one-time payment to your energy provider.

Provides driving records, new or duplicate drivers licenses, and takes administrative action against unsafe drivers.

Provides personalized in-home care and support, including assistance with daily living and specialized care for conditions for individuals with dementia and Parkinson’s. 

- Food for Seniors: Provides groceries to income eligible seniors in Champaign and Urbana who are in need of food. Groceries are delivered by volunteers on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

- Emergency Food Fund for Seniors: Seniors determined to be in emergent need of food by caseworkers may get food to cover them until other resources are available. (For example, a senior needs food on a Friday when there are no open food pantries). Caseworker will submit a request for emergency funds to shop and deliver food to the senior to cover the weekend.

Services and information for people with cognitive, intellectual, and developmental disabilities and their families.

Year round events, such as holiday parties and dances for participants and families.

Provides support to build trust, emotional health, and community connections. Offers education, peer support, and guidance. Creates safe spaces that value belonging. Builds skills for healthy relationships and strong family foundations.

Provides nutritious lunches in a friendly, inclusive environment. Each meal includes a balanced combination of protein, vegetables, fruit, grain, and milk.

Menus are carefully designed and approved by a registered dietitian to ensure they meet 1/3 of the daily recommended intake of essential nutrients.

Some locations offer hot meal pick-up and/or delivery.  (Varies by location; see description of hours for details.)

Offers Child Care Expense Assistance through the Iowa Department of Human services is available to the children of income-eligible parents who are absent for a portion of the day due to employment or participation in academic or vocational training or PROMISE JOBS activities. Offers various support services to families with children through a cooperative of area churches. Trained volunteers and staff work with parents facing chronic stress or crisis to find resources and supports that can help. The following services are offered with volunteers from local churches:

Crisis Child Hosting: Temporary care of vulnerable children to give parents a safe option during a crisis.

Child Respite Hosting: Hosting children for shorter periods (typically a few hours to a few days a couple of times a month). This provides parents with respite relief and allows for stabilization.

Mentoring and Advocacy Services for Parents: focuses on working with parents to develop goals and relationships/friendships to decrease isolation and increase support for the parent. Advocates can also help parents find local resources to help relieve stress.

Provides Medicaid and Medicare-certified low cost clinics offering "one stop shop" for general health care needs.

Provides immediate, walk-in care for minor injuries and non-emergency illnesses that are not life-threatening but need early attention. Common conditions include sore throat, pink eye, flu, sprains, and strains.

Offers providers on site or through telehealth system to address an array of behavioral problems including depression, mood disorders, anxiety, alcohol and drug use for our primary medical patients. The behavioral health providers will work closely with the CHC/SEIA primary care providers who make the referrals to assist patients address their behavioral health concerns.
