Family Counseling Service (FCS) of Aurora

Provides adult, child, and adolescent counseling, including individual, family, and couples therapy, as well as specialized counseling for first responders. Services include mental health assessments, treatment planning, case management, and psychiatric crisis intervention. Psychiatric medication services are also available, which include psychiatric evaluations to determine the need for medication, the prescription of psychotropic drugs to manage symptoms of mental illness, and periodic follow-up to monitor medication effectiveness and minimize side effects. Services for youth address problems such as out-of-control behavior, depression, abuse or trauma, and difficulty in school.

Provide a single point of entry to the Illinois Early Intervention Program (EI). Early Intervention offers developmental support and case coordination services for families with children under 3 years old with developmental delays. Service Coordinators assist referred families through the process of enrollment into the EI, as well as initiate referrals for evaluations and direct services. Eligible participants receive case coordinator through CFC to monitor individualized goals, strategies, and services. Additionally, staff assist families with the transition from the EI program into local school/care special education services based on the family's priorities and the child's needs.
