Provides a safe, child focused setting for investigations of child abuse, ensure victims and their families receive quality services, and raise awareness in the community to combat child abuse.
The victim advocates provide services to victims and their non-offending family members from the time the case is opened through disposition. They also assess needed service referrals, provide medical and court advocacy, and keep the victim and family members up to date on the status of the case.
Some of the services provided by advocates are:
- Assistance filing an order of protection.
- Setting up a follow up medical exam.
- Court accompaniment.
- Case updates.
- Assistance finding counseling.

Provides a hotline for individuals working around unmarked utilities. Individuals must contact 811 or submit an online request at www.call811.com in their state for each project to ensure the location of underground utilities, including gas, electric, water, and other services, is identified. Representatives may mark utility lines within 48 hours of the call; services must be requested at least two full working days before digging. Individuals must contact a plumbing and heating dealer or a qualified private contractor to locate customer owned gas piping' including pipes and wires that pass-through MidAmerican Energy owned meters.

Nebraska has four veterans homes, located in Bellevue, Kearney, Norfolk, and Scottsbluff.
The homes provide a variety of nursing and assisted living services tailored to meet members’ needs. These services range from domiciliary to skilled nursing to memory care. Physical, occupational, speech, and restorative nursing therapy services are available at each of the facilities to help improve members’ quality of life; allow them to participate in meaningful activities; and maintain optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning.
Members are admitted without regard to their financial situation. Cost is based on each individual’s income and assets. Those who are able to are required to pay a portion of their care costs, but there is no fixed cost.

Heartland Family Service - Charles E. Lakin Human Services Campus Office
Provides assistance to prevent individuals from losing their housing and becoming homeless. This may include helping them preserve their current housing situation or identifying alternate appropriate housing options. The program provides short-term assistance via in-home case management services for up to three months. The focus of the program is on crisis resolution, linking program participants to community resources and mainstream benefits, and helping them develop a plan to prevent future housing instability.
