Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) for children ages 0 to 6 who have experienced interpersonal violence. Uses behavior-based strategies, play and verbal interpretation as therapeutic interventions. The focus is on improving child-caregiver interactions through play. The therapist acts as a bridge or interpreter between the child and parent.

Circle of Security Parent Training is an eight-week program based on years of research about how to best support and strengthen parent-child relationships. It is designed to help parents give their children a feeling of security and confidence so their children explore, learn, grow and build positive relationships.

Connections, a Project Harmony program, works with schools and health care professionals to identify children in grades K-8 in need of mental health services. Focuses on children who are not receiving child welfare or juvenile justice services. Children are matched with LFS community therapists who are trained in evidence-based practices. Throughout the counseling process, therapists work with the family and a Connections mental health coordinator to help remove financial hardships and other barriers families face in accessing services.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy used to help with symptoms of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). By directly affecting how the brain processes information, EMDR helps people see traumatic memories in new, less distressing ways.

Using Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), parents learn play therapy skills to enhance their parent-child relationship. Parents also learn to manage their child’s behaviors through behavioral principles and discipline techniques.

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy for children and adolescents (ages 3 to 18) with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other difficulties related to traumatic life events. The goal is to provide both the child and caregiver with the knowledge and skills to help them identify and cope with trauma-related emotions, thoughts and behaviors.

Offers donated clothing, books/CDs/DVDs, household items, and furniture for sale to raise funds to support the humanitarian work of the Society conferences in the area.

Provides food to those in need. Items available include boxed and canned food, diabetic food items, and baby items (when available) including diapers, formula, and baby food. Milk, bread and eggs as well as a variety of meats are always available. There are usually some perishable items on hand including fresh produce in season. Use of the pantry is limited to once a month, though this may vary depending on circumstances. Toiletries and hygiene items available.

Home delivery is possible when necessary; call for information. The pantry is also available by appointment early mornings, late evenings, and weekends (call for an appointment).

Offers a free and confidential crisis line for veterans. Can also help with local suicide prevention coordinators, who can connect veterans to ongoing counseling and services in their area.

Head Start has preschool options for 3 and 4 year old children. Many locations partner with local schools to provide full day service, transportation, and easier transitions to Kindergarten.

Early Head Start, birth to 3 years old, have similar comprehensive services as Head Start.

Provides skill training in a structured learning environment to help people with developmental disabilities succeed in the workplace, home, and social life. 

Provides an emergency food bank. Food Bank offers 3-5 days of food per individual/family as needed. 

Provides a 325-bed hospital that offers a full scope of inpatient and outpatient care. Also operates many community, primary, and specialty health centers throughout the region.

Provides assistance to wartime veterans and spouses with emergency basic needs (medical, shelter, food, utilities, burial cost and special needs). Also helps with applying for compensation, pension, widow's benefits, obtaining military records, Federal, State and County Benefits they may qualify for.

Offers a food pantry to those in need who live within the communities of Slater and Sheldahl. Food voucher given to be redeemed at Town and Country Market in Slater only.

Caseworkers complete a needs-based assessment in a hospital setting for patients who need further assistance after discharge. Caseworkers review service options and costs, provide general information on nursing facility care as well as the Community Care program so individuals may make informed choices regarding their own care now and in the future.

Provides in home support services for individuals in need. Services include personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, exercises and a respite care program. 

Offers free, face-to-face group that helps clients learn tools that empower ongoing recovery. This group was developed to address addiction and ways to address challenges with substances, shopping, internet, sex, and other addictive behaviors.

Offers 24-hour chat line that allows survivors of domestic violence to speak with an advocate who will listen and provide emergency services if needed, Harbor House advocates are mandated reporters and will report threats of intimate harm to the proper authorities.

Offers congregate and home delivered meals.

Offers individual, family, play, grief, and trauma-informed therapy services.
