Offers the Adventure Pass, a program designed to help individuals and families check out area attractions for free. The pass can be checked out with a library card and allows free admittance to the Blank Park Zoo, Science Center of Iowa and the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden. The Adventure Pass must be printed when presented upon admission into the attractions along with a photo ID. Each pass allows admission for up to 4 people, including up to 2 adults and 2 children for both the Zoo and Botanical Garden. The Science Center of Iowa allows admission for up to 2 adults and 3 children, but a maximum of 4 people total may be admitted.

State Disability provides aid to needy persons who have a disability expected to last for at least six months, but less than the 12 months required to be eligible for the federal Supplemental Security Income Program.
