Hooved Animal Humane Society
Promotes the humane treatment of hooved animals through education, legislation, investigation and, if necessary, legal intervention (impoundment). Also provides physical rehabilitation to animals that have endured severe neglect and abuse and then facilitates adoption to compassionate homes.
Animals targeted are: horses, sheep, goats, llamas, and pot-belly pigs.

Iowa Legal Aid - Waterloo
Offers free legal advice to the victims of the April 26 and May 21, 2024 severe storms who are experiencing legal problems due to the storms. Legal problems may include issues such as: FEMA denials, problems with insurance, landlord/tenant issues, unemployment benefits or denials, employment issues, contractor issues and identity theft. After calling 1-866-761-4692, callers will be connected to the Hotline voicemail. Callers should leave their name, phone number, brief description of their legal problem, and whether the issue is urgent. Callers will receive a call back from an experienced Iowa Legal Aid staff member to go through a screening. Callers who meet Iowa Legal Aid’s guidelines will be connected with an Iowa Legal Aid attorney.

For Christmas 2025:
The Christmas Store offers presents at affordable prices to families in need.
The store will be open Thu, Dec 11 (6 pm-8 pm), Fri, Dec 12 (9:30 am-8 pm), and Sat, Dec 13 (9:30 am-11 am).
Families select their shopping time at registration.
Applicants must be the legal guardian of each child being registered, and the child must live in the applicant's home.
In-person registration to shop at the store:

Imagine the Possibilities Region 5 - De Witt
Offers supported employment opportunities to individuals who have both the desire to work in an integrated work setting and employment abilities for this setting. The two main goals of these services are to give the individuals the opportunity to earn competitive wages and allow these wages to be earned in an integrated work setting.
Provides vocational training for persons who require a higher level of care than is available through other Hope Haven programs. Individuals receiving services must have a primary diagnosis of a mental disability and must be certified by the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care to be in need of this level of service.

Choice pantry which allows people, once every 30 days, to pick out groceries for themselves and their families Three- to four-days' worth of food is provided and can include vegetables and fruits, spaghetti, soup, crackers, peanut butter, canned chili or meats, macaroni and cheese, packaged noodle dishes, cereal, bread, meat, and other miscellaneous donated items. Personal hygiene items are available when in stock for those seeking such.
Infant diapers, Adult diapers and incontinence items, and baby layettes available upon request. The layettes contain basic items needed for a newborn, e.g., blankets, onesies, diapers, wipes, lotion, soap and shampoo, bibs, burp clothes, and one or two outfits of clothing. Availability dependent on donations.
