The Hope Harbor Shelter will not take in single men without children.

Ogle County Housing Authority
Properties are located in Oregon, Polo, and Forreston. Rent is based on 30% of the applicants income with a minimum rent of $50 per month. There are also established ceiling rents, so depending on the size of the apartment, the rent will not go over a certain amount.
-- Housing Choice Voucher Program: For this program, participants seek housing in the private rental market. Tenants pay 30% of the rent which is based on their income and the housing authority pays the balance due to the landlord. There is currently an open waiting list for Section 8 vouchers.
American Job Center - Beatrice
Employment services including job matching and referral, job search and job placement assistance, career guidance and assessment, employer services, labor market information, apprenticeships, veteran services, resume design, interview skills development, and a variety of other programs and services.
Computers with internet available.
Many services also apply to out-of-school individuals ages 14-24 with employment barriers, including:
-- Paid work experience, summer employment, and on-the-job training opportunities

-- On site tutoring
-- Support services to assist with application fees, enrollment fees, work attire, school or work supplies, etc.

Provides assistance for individuals with developmental disabilities. Services offer help with decision making, managing health issues, and supporting healthy living. Activities include educational instruction, daily living skills practice, and vocational support. Vocational training supports developing job skills, positive work habits, and allows access to work in a supervised environment.

Community Support Services are designed to provide intervention and support to individuals who experience ongoing functional challenges related to their mental health. Services are provided in the community and are designed to address areas that negatively affect integration and stability to avoid the need for a higher level of care.
Pottawattamie County General Assistance
Provides rent, utility, or medication assistance. Does not assist with past due rent/utilities or rent/utility deposits. Does not assist anyone eligible or receiving FIP. Repayment agreement is required.
Interim Disability Program assists adults who are 100% disabled as deemed by their doctor and have zero income and resources in the household. All members of the household must meet requirements to qualify for this program.
Back to Work program provides assistance for up to 3 consecutive months not to exceed a fixed limit for a 1 month period. Clients must complete 40 volunteer hours and submit 8 job applications per month.
One-Time Needy Assistance Program provides assistance once within a Fiscal Year with the amount of assistance not to exceed a fixed limit; clients must have a plan to pay future bills.
Provides a Burial Assistance Program; approved person must have been previously residing in Pottawattamie County but considered homeless, i.e. indigent, transient.
The General Assistance Program is to be considered the agency of last resort; all callers will be directed to contact other assistance agencies prior to funding consideration.
