This program provides preschool children through the adult population education which emphasizes health concerns appropriate to the age of the audience.

Offers Child Care Expense Assistance through the Iowa Department of Human services is available to the children of income-eligible parents who are absent for a portion of the day due to employment or participation in academic or vocational training or PROMISE JOBS activities. Operates as a charitable organization that does not provide direct services but facilitates community support through various programs. Administers the 2-1-1 Information and Referral line to connect individuals with needed resources, manages the Sprout Into Reading program and the Community Clothes Closet through the Women United group to support literacy and basic needs, and offers a free online volunteer portal to match community members with nonprofit organizations requiring assistance. Additionally, provides support to local Community Volunteers Active in Disaster (COAD) and engages in activities that promote the allocation of resources to human service programs within the community.

Behavioral and mental health counseling (psychotherapy) for adults and couples. Psychotherapy services are usually but not always covered by medical insurance plans and employee assistance programs. Services can be short term solution focused problem solving, or cognitive behavioral restructuring for emotional or other more trauma-based symptoms. Services provided in person or by telehealth. 

Nutrition education to adults and youth of limited resources about healthy eating and food resources to improve food resource management skills. The program offers lessons in the areas of diet quality, food safety, and food resource management individually or in small groups.

Offers vouchers for food, clothing, and household items. Vouchers can be exchanged at the thrift store.

Provides public health services and emergency preparedness. Disease surveillance (responsibility shared with NHHSS) a. School surveillance - absenteeism counts are collected weekly b. West Nile Virus - dead bird collection and testing and mosquito trapping and testing c. Rabies monitoring in animals and investigate potential human exposures d. Other community health threats, as needed: mold, pertussis, food-borne illness Scrubby Bear, an American Red Cross program that teaches proper hand-washing techniques to children in preschool through third grade. Offers voluntary programs to eligible landowners and agricultural producers to provide financial and technical assistance to help manage natural resources in a sustainable manner. Through these programs the agency approves contracts to provide financial assistance to help plan and implement conservation practices that address natural resource concerns or opportunities to help save energy, improve soil, water, plant, air, animal and related resources on agricultural lands and non-industrial private forest land, with emphasis on market stability and commodity pricing.

Empowers Nebraskans statewide aged 60+ in overcoming hardships caused by abuse, neglect, and/or financial exploitation. The program offers strengths-based, trauma-informed, person-centered services and referrals using a statewide circle of support that allows seniors to remain independent.

Offers a free and confidential crisis line for veterans. Can also help with local suicide prevention coordinators, who can connect veterans to ongoing counseling and services in their area. 

Offers good, gently worn items for infants to teens.

Offers no-cost health screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, depressive symptoms, and food insecurity. Also provide awareness, education and support as well as glucometers and blood pressure machines to those that need it to monitor their numbers.
