County level services provide direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs. Personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents. Must have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge from active duty or wartime service. Must be a resident in Nebraska for the past one year and 6 months of that year in Keya Paha County. State level services do not require wartime service. Assist in completing applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund; fee exempt fishing and hunting permits; applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes; waivers of tuition. Federal level services provide and/or complete Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, burial allowance, grave markers/headstones, educational benefits, home loans, insurance, indebtedness, and character of service upgrades.
Warren County Housing Authority
Provides housing assistance to low-income residents through the management of the Housing Choice Voucher Program - Section 8. Participants may select any house, duplex, or apartment that meets Housing Quality Standards and is an existing Section 8 property. The program supports eligible individuals and families, including older adults and people with disabilities, by ensuring access to affordable housing options.

Ogle County Offices - Veterans Assistance Commission
Offers emergency and interim financial assistance with food, shelter, and utilities for Veterans in Ogle County.
Can also arrange transportation to and from a medical facility for those that have no other means of getting there.
Epilepsy Foundation Iowa
Provides a place to share experiences, provide encouragement and offer support through the epilepsy journey. The Western Iowa group meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM CT. Registration is required. The group does not meet in December, due to the holidays. The Eastern Iowa group meets on the 4th Thursday of the month from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM CT. Registration is required. The group does not meet in November or December, due to the holidays. Lupus Society of Illinois
Promotes lupus awareness and complements the work of health care professionals by providing personalized resources for the lupus community while supporting research.
Services include:
- Health educators/navigators available to answer questions and provide medically sound information about Lupus.
- Information on support groups.
- Referrals to physicians, community services, resources, and assistance.
- Peer-to-peer support.
Ethnic Minorities of Burma Advocacy and Resource Center (EMBARC)
Provides crisis and advocacy services to refugee and immigrant communities across Iowa. Will assist survivors of crime and violence (including sexual assault and domestic violence situations) by giving access to linguistically and culturally appropriate resources. Can also provide mental health education and resources.

Embarras River Basin Agency (ERBA)
Provides case management and referral information to households to help them build and maintain stability within the family and household. Services may include some financial assistance to help reach stability.
National Headache Foundation
Information resource to headache sufferers, their families, and the health care providers who treat them. Information on types of headaches as well as a physician finder.
Support community via chat rooms and blogs.
Promotes research into potential headache causes and treatments.
Public education regarding headaches.
Saint Luke's Neighbor-to-Neighbor Food Pantry
Provides a food pantry to those in need every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 4:30 pm-5:30 pm.
Caritas Family Solutions - Effingham
Provides supportive housing services (transitional housing, supervised mental health housing, and senior assisted living at Fox River) and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (CILA group homes, Competitive Integrated Employment, Home-Based Services and Community Day Services).

For Thanksgiving 2025:
A Thanksgiving Meal is offered. This can be picked up in the month of December with the monthly food pantry pick-up.
For Christmas 2025:
Offers the Operation Santa program, where qualifying parents can pick out gifts for their children (ages 0-18) at a pop-up shop in December (date to be determined; by appointment only).
Visit the office and fill out an application before the deadline (Nov 22, 2025); parents will then be pre-approved for a time to come and select gifts for their children. Gift options include new and gently used clothing, games, puzzles, etc. Parents also receive a $50 gift card and $50 voucher for each child.
Grupo 24 Horas Omaha
Spanish speaking halfway house for those recovering from substance abuse; occupational therapy is part of the rehab program. Provides Spanish language Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, Narcotics Anonymous meetings, and Cocaine Anonymous meetings.

Provides free and confidential pregnancy counseling for families, every step of the way; before, during, and after the birth of the child.
Assistance with making an adoption plan or parenting plan.
Parenting education. Support and education for baby's father on request.
Home studies for prospective adoptive parents.
Newborn care home for baby as a safe haven.
