Offers MEDICAID (Medical Assistance) to people who are low income and aged (65 and older), disabled (including blindness), women needing treatment for cancer or pre-cancerous conditions of breast or cervix (who have been screened and diagnosed through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection program and who do not have credible health insurance coverage), children under 21 years of age, pregnant women, parents or other caretaker relatives of children under age 18 (or under age 19 if they are attending secondary school and are expected to graduate before age 19). Medicaid will pay the costs of Health care, Dental care, In-home health care, Nursing facility care or Residential facility care.

Provides educational opportunities for immigrant families, including English and computer classes and parenting skills workshops.

Provides Regulation to 19 licensure boards for 39 professions. The mission of the professional boards is to protect the public health, safety and welfare by licensing qualified individuals and enforcing Iowa's statutes and administrative rules fairly and consistently. The Bureau of Professional Licensure licenses the following professions: Athletic Training, Barber, Behavioral Science , Chiropractic, Cosmetology, Dietetic, Hearing, Aid Dispenser, Sign Language Interpreters and Transliterators, Massage Therapy, Mortuary Science, Nursing Home Administrator, Optometry, Physical & Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Podiatry, Psychology, Respiratory Care & Polysomnography, Social Work and Speech Pathology & Audiology.

Provides crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing a major life crisis. Individuals are evaluated by clinical staff to determine whether crisis can be deflected or a referral for psychiatric hospitalization is required. 

Offers in-home family therapy and community support services to help keep children out of the juvenile court system and with their families. Provides assessments and appropriate behavioral health therapy services to address any mental health diagnosis. Treatment can assist individuals with addressing emotions, behaviors and functioning issues in their daily lives. Crisis Diversion Services are provided to address immediate problems or de-escalate situations with the intent to keep families together and avoid a child’s removal from the family home.

Offers support and information for grandparents caring for their grandchildren and adult children caring for their parents. Support programs, respite provider information, services and links to available financial assistance are available.

Provides child vaccines. All scheduled childhood vaccines are available. Immunization for infants and children (6 weeks to 18 years of age) for uninsured, underinsured, and Medicaid/All Kid's recipients. 8 clinics per month, 6 total sites located throughout McHenry County

Adult Vaccines, all recommended vaccines for adults (19 years of age and older) for both uninsured and underinsured. 2 walk-in clinics per month. Travel vaccines are not offered.

Low interest loans for low and moderate income homeowners to rehabilitate health and safety needs of their older homes. Provides home buyer education to persons of any income level.

Provides vital records (birth, death, marriage, civil union, etc.), property taxes (maintains property tax information), information, and county board information.

Law enforcement agency.

Provides mental health and psychiatry services to those in need. Services include counseling, medication management, and mental health case management.

Emergency operations center for the County, which handles emergency response incidents, including accidents, fires, floods, storms and other disasters. Also responsible for requesting federal assistance after a disaster.

Provides temporary emergency financial assistance to eligible individuals and families for shelter, utilities, rent, medical, and burial/cremation expenses.

Offers to connect pregnant women and children under the age of six months to health and wellness services.

Provides a variety of services to those in need in the communities served.

Provides permanent shared housing for adult women who are transitioning from unstable housing, reentry, healthcare settings, or seeking a safe and stable community living environment. Services include shared rooms, kitchens, and living areas, affordable housing, a drug-free environment for safety, and support for following house rules, while residents take care of their own daily needs and build connections with other women in the home. 

Offers informational resource for families, child care providers, employers, and communities. Improves family's access to quality and affordable early learning programs to ensure children have the early experiences they need to reach their optimal development.
