Energy assistance program for low income households with assistance paying part of fuel bills through the winter months (Federal Fuel Assistance Program). Applications are accepted November-April. For those that are elderly or disabled, applications are accepted October-April. Call for an appointment. A letter has been sent to those who may be eligible for early application in August or September. **This program is not designed to pay a household's total energy costs. The program will provide supplemental assistance based on several factors. This is a one-time payment to your energy provider.

Offers a crisis hotline to provide support, assist with safety planning, and provide valuable information and referrals to individuals who have experienced crisis situations.

Provides mentoring services to youth. Services include weekly group mentorship sessions, guest speakers, leadership activities, and community engagement opportunities. The mentorship initiative focuses on helping youth navigate challenges, set goals, strengthen self-esteem, and develop leadership qualities.

Offers affordable housing options and rental and home ownership opportunities to low-income families and individuals. 

Provides police and dispatch services responsible for emergency assessment and response.

Offers home health care and hospice services. Care may include:

• Regular visits to patient's home to provide care.

  - Coordinate services needed from other healthcare providers, including doctors, therapists, social workers and nurse aides.

• Keeps family and primary care physician informed about progress and care plan.

  VNA will also answer questions about hospice care or end-of-life questions, even if a patient is not ready for hospice care at this time. Topics include:

• Advance directives.

• End-of-life issues.

• Making plans to provide care for a loved one with a terminal illness.

• Grief and loss issues.

• Understanding palliative care vs. curative treatment.

Offers affordable spay and neuter services for cats, dogs, and rabbits. Our Love for Pets program provides individuals in under-served neighborhoods with resources to keep their pets, safe, healthy, and in their homes. Our ITRAP program assists individuals and municipalities with trap/neuter/return resources and policies to humanely manage community cat populations.

Provides referrals for mental health services, financial support for counseling, mental health first aid training, support groups for mental health and grief, and mental health and suicide prevention awareness.

Offers, as resources allow, to help refugees and asylees reach economic self-sufficiency and to them with any problems, interests and concerns they may have. The Bureau of Refugee Services works to serve as a central clearinghouse in order to refer refugees and asylees to any resource necessary and available to them. The Bureau is the service agency for all refugees enrolled in FIP, the state welfare reform program. Now offering a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) program. This program will help participants prepare for the class, enroll into the DMACC CDL program at no cost, and obtain a job after completion. Participants will also qualify for “Jump Start” training specially designed to help English Language Learners.
