Lancaster County Youth Services Center

Youth Assessment Center, with families and the community, supports activities that contribute to the safety and well-being of youth involved with the juvenile justice system or at risk of becoming involved in the system. Goal is to divert youth from the juvenile detention center where possible and when appropriate. Youth receive comprehensive pre-treatment assessments and drug and alcohol assessments to aid the juvenile court in determining the need for detention.

Staff Secure Detention facilities house youth who are under Juvenile Court jurisdiction only and who do not require a locked facility for supervision and control. The facility is unlocked and the supervision is provided by staff.

Juvenile Detention Center is a secure facility that houses youth who require a locked environment; the facility has a central control room which houses a state of the art computerized security system to monitor and manage security 24-hours a day.

Drug and alcohol evaluations for all youth admitted, as well as year round educational programs through the Lincoln Public Schools/Pathfinder School.

Cancer recovery programs.

Rehabilitation/medical services, offered with physician referral (hours vary), include physical therapy, warm water therapy, anticoagulation clinic, cardiac rehabilitation, chest pain/angina and heart failure therapy, pulmonary rehabilitation, diabetes education that includes medical nutrition therapy, assistance with insulin management and/or insulin pump instruction and gestational diabetes, foot care clinic.

Grants wishes of children in Nebraska with critical illnesses. Children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18, who has been determined by a physician to have a life-threatening medical condition, are eligible for a wish. In granting this wish they emphasize the entire family in the hope that they can provide them with some special memories. All expenses are paid, including airline tickets, rental cars, meals, spending money, passes for attractions, film, etc. Referrals can be made by a parent, legal guardian, the child, or a medical professional.

TASC - Area 4 (Central Illinois)

Provides substance use assessments and case management services for courts across Illinois.

Clients may be mandated to TASC as an alternative to incarceration at the time of sentencing, or they may be referred post-sentence when they're on probation. TASC case managers conduct clinical assessments, advocate for treatment for those who need it, develop individualized service plans, and place clients into treatment and recovery support services. TASC also reports client progress to the court, and provides monitoring and guidance as clients work their way through the recovery process.
