Provides weatherization services to low income households, which helps conserve fuel and reduce energy costs by making homes and apartments more energy efficient. Also provides many health and safety upgrades.
Services vary, but may include insulation installation, HVAC repair or replacement, electric base load reduction (lighting and refrigerator replacement), and air sealing.
Maximum $15,000 for energy-related weatherization and repair work (per client's home). Maximum $3,500 for health and safety-related measures.
Allamakee County Offices - Allamakee Street
Provides emergency financial assistance in the areas of rent, gas money, utilities, prescription drugs, and funeral and cemetery expenses. This financial aid can be granted in addition to other types of financial aid the person may be receiving such as Social Security or Food Stamps on a one-time emergency basis. All financial assistance payments are made to the service providers, not to the clients themselves.
Also provides the diaper program for parents in need of diapers.

Free universal home visit program offered to every family in Lancaster County who has recently welcomed a newborn into the home, or given birth, including foster or adoptive families and families experiencing infant loss.
A highly trained Registered Nurse comes to the client's home at around three weeks postpartum to assess mom and baby, including weight and measurements, offering lactation support, providing education on topics relevant to all families, and answering any questions.
Embarras River Basin Agency (ERBA) - Cumberland County
Provides energy assistance for eligible low income families in which a benefit is paid directly to the utility companies on behalf of eligible households, or directly to renters if the utility costs are included in their rent.
Some applicants may qualify for the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), where an eligible client pays a percentage of their income, receives a monthly benefit towards their utility bill, and receives a reduction in overdue payments for every on-time payment they make by the bill due date. Riders are encouraged to schedule trips at least one working day in advance (same-day service is available if space permits), and riders must be ready for pick-up 15 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time. Cancellations must be made at least two hours prior to pick-up time.
All vehicles are wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant.
