Offers a free store to Iowa residents only. Services include clothing, coats, shoes, and household items at no cost. Shopping is limited to two plastic grocery bags per week. Exceptions may be made for certain situations of particular need.

- Children's Store at 5th Ave - Services include children's clothing for boys and girls, sizes newborn - 14/16. Some baby essentials may be available, as well as assortment of shoes, socks, underwear, etc. Shopping is on a first come, first served basis during open hours.

Offers hospice care services for individuals who are terminally ill and their families in their homes and facilities in which they live. Services include nursing services on an intermittent basis, physician services, drugs for pain relief and symptom management, medical supplies and equipment, short-term inpatient care including respite care, medical social services, bereavement services including support groups and counseling, spiritual and support and chaplain services.

DODGE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY (515-574-4700): A medium security men’s facility, emphasizing: academic and vocational education, psychological services and counseling, cognitive skills training, substance abuse program, reentry programs, anger management, parenting programs, family violence program, and MIFVPP IOWA CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION FOR WOMEN, MITCHELLVILLE (515-725-5042): Serves as the reception and classification center for all females entering the adult institutional corrections system. A medium security women's facility emphasizing academic and vocational education, prison industries, psychological counseling, cognitive skill training, substance abuse programs, violence prevention, pre-release program, reentry programs, anger management and parenting programs IOWA MEDICAL & CLASSIFICATION CENTER, CORALVILLE (319-626-2391): IMCC serves as the reception and classification center for all males 18 years of age and older entering the adult institutional corrections system. After extensive testing and assessment of risk, health and cognitive skills, they are then processed on to other facilities. A medium security general population unit is in operation at IMCC, as well as, a special needs unit with both medical and mental health beds. IMCC also runs the only licensed forensic psychiatric hospital in the state, providing inpatient psychiatric and evaluation service to non-adjudicated patients IOWA STATE PENITENTIARY, FT. MADISON (319-372-5432): A maximum security prison facility for men emphasizing: academic and vocational education, prison industries, psychological counseling, cognitive skills training, and offender treatment MT. PLEASANT WOMEN'S UNIT, Mt. Pleasant (319-385-9511): A medium/minimum security institution for women emphasizing cognitive based programming including substance abuse, sex offender programming, thinking for a change, and academic programming. Provides support services for victims of domestic violence including 24 hour crisis line, counseling, advocacy, emergency shelter, and transitional shelter.

Provides care and support to individuals with disabilities in community-based homes. Supported Community Living services are available on a daily and/or hourly basis. Services may also include HCBS Respite Services for children and adults. Services include support with household skills, community involvement, budgeting, cooking, personal health and safety, and other daily living skills. Staff work with the individual, parent or guardian, case manager, and other team members to coordinate services that support independence. 

Provides a family oriented facility that includes a cardio room, racquetball courts, full court gymnasium, pool, spa, and track.

Offers to assist home owners or renters who have a disconnect notice or have missed a payment on a pay arrangement. Can also assist homeowners who have a back bill. If funds are available, households may receive emergency assistance with furnace repair/replacement (if a homeowner) and/or emergency delivery of deliverable fuel. Clients need to have been LIHEAP approved during our program year (October 1 through April 30) or they can complete a crisis application.

Provides water to Des Moines area residents and offers services for testing drinking water to detect hazardous chemicals, pollutants, and other contaminants, as well as to analyze water composition, softness, odor, color, and taste.

Provides in-person and online support groups for individuals with depression and bipolar disorder. Services include the balanced mind parent network program, which provides an online support community for parents and caregivers to find connections and resources. Resources include support groups for parents and caregivers, information and resources, depression in children, bipolar disorder in children, finding a clinician, treatment options, how to talk to children about mental health, safety and crisis planning, working with educators, and resources for parents and caregivers. 

Provides government services to residents and visitors of Woodward.

Offers a fitness room with exercise bikes, treadmills, stepper, elliptical, dumbbells, universal weight machine.  The gymnasium has two basketball hoops, foosball, pool table and air hockey, snack and game area, racquetball and volleyball courts.
