Works with income-eligible homeowners to make their homes safer and more energy efficient by eliminating heat loss and air infiltration areas in the home. After the initial assessment, recommendations on home improvements are given to the homeowner and the Weatherization team will coordinate repairs with contractors. Examples of common improvements include sealing cracks, insulating attics, or repairing windows and doors. All improvements are completed at no cost to the homeowner.

Additional priority is given to households with elderly, disabled, and young children.

Community Action of Eastern Iowa - Davenport

Clients may receive emergency funds to avoid a utility disconnection. Program often works in conjunction with other assistance.

The LIHEAP program assists low-income homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season. Assistance is based on household income, size, type of fuel and type of housing. The application period is from October 1 (for elderly and disabled households) and November 1 through April 30th for the rest of the households. Persons applying must meet 200% poverty guidelines.
